The propagation of elastic waves in a fractured rock is investigated, both theoretically and numerically. Outside the fractures, the propagation of compressional waves is described in the simple framework of 1-D linear elastodynamics. The focus here is on the interactions between the waves and fractures: for this purpose, the mechanical behavior of the fractures is modeled using nonlinear jump conditions deduced from the Bandis–Barton model classically used in geomechanics. Well-posedness of the initial-boundary value problem thus obtained is proved. Numerical modeling is performed by coupling a time-domain finite-difference scheme with an interface method accounting for the jump conditions. The numerical experiments show the effects of contact nonlinearities. The harmonics generated may provide a nondestructive means of evaluating the mechanical properties of fractures.  相似文献

In this paper we study the phenomenon of nonlinear supratransmission in a semi-infinite discrete chain of coupled oscillators described by modified sine-Gordon equations with constant external and internal damping, and subject to harmonic external driving at the end. We develop a consistent and conditionally stable finite-difference scheme in order to analyze the effect of damping in the amount of energy injected in the chain of oscillators; numerical bifurcation analyses to determine the dependence of the amplitude at which supratransmission first occurs with respect to the frequency of the driving oscillator are carried out in order to show the consequences of damping on harmonic phonon quenching and the delay of appearance of critical amplitude.  相似文献

In this paper, we formulate Wolfe and Mond–Weir type second-order multiobjective symmetric dual problems over arbitrary cones. Weak, strong and converse duality theorems are established under ηη-bonvexity/ηη-pseudobonvexity assumptions. This work also removes several omissions in definitions, models and proofs for Wolfe type problems studied in Mishra [9]. Moreover, self-duality theorems for these pairs are obtained assuming the function involved to be skew symmetric.  相似文献

We introduce (n+1)(n+1)-preprojective algebras of algebras of global dimension nn. We show that if an algebra is nn-representation-finite then its (n+1)(n+1)-preprojective algebra is self-injective. In this situation, we show that the stable module category of the (n+1)(n+1)-preprojective algebra is (n+1)(n+1)-Calabi–Yau, and, more precisely, it is the (n+1)(n+1)-Amiot cluster category of the stable nn-Auslander algebra of the original algebra. In particular this stable category contains an (n+1)(n+1)-cluster tilting object. We show that even if the (n+1)(n+1)-preprojective algebra is not self-injective, under certain assumptions (which are always satisfied for n∈{1,2}n{1,2}) the results above still hold for the stable category of Cohen–Macaulay modules.  相似文献

It is well known that a vector variational inequality can be a very efficient model for use in studying vector optimization problems. By using the Ky Fan fixed point theorem and the scalarization method we will prove some existence theorems for strong solutions for generalized vector variational inequalities where discontinuous and star-pseudomonotone operators are involved. Our results can be applied to the study of the existence of solutions of vector optimal problems. Some examples are given and analyzed.  相似文献

In this paper, we determine all faithful, symmetric and locally finite actions of a group on the tree of valency five. As a corollary we complete the classification of the isomorphism types of vertex and edge stabilisers in a group acting symmetrically on a graph of valency five. This builds on work of Weiss and recent work of Feng, Zhou and Feng, Guo. Our approach is to classify the isomorphism types of finite, faithful amalgams of degree (5, 2).  相似文献

We analyze the MAP/PH/1 vacation system at arbitrary times using the matrix-analytic method, and obtain decomposition results for the RR and GG matrices. The decomposition results reduce the amount of computational effort needed to obtain these matrices. The results for the GG matrix are extended to the BMAP/PH/1 system. We also show that in the case of the Geo/PH/1 and M/PH/1 systems with PH vacations both the GG and RR matrices can be obtained explicitly.  相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamics of a class of recurrent neural networks where the neural activations are modeled by discontinuous functions. Without presuming the boundedness of activation functions, the sufficient conditions to ensure the existence, uniqueness, global exponential stability and global convergence of state equilibrium point and output equilibrium point are derived, respectively. Furthermore, under certain conditions we prove that the system is convergent globally in finite time. The analysis in the paper is based on the properties of M-matrix, Lyapunov-like approach, and the theories of differential equations with discontinuous right-hand side as introduced by Filippov. The obtained results extend previous works on global stability of recurrent neural networks with not only Lipschitz continuous but also discontinuous neural activation functions.  相似文献

We study the problem of counting the total number of affine solutions of a system of n binomials in n   variables over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We show that we may decide in polynomial time if that number is finite. We give a combinatorial formula for computing the total number of affine solutions (with or without multiplicity) from which we deduce that this counting problem is #P#P-complete. We discuss special cases in which this formula may be computed in polynomial time; in particular, this is true for generic exponent vectors.  相似文献

An application of the “generalized Zernike or disc polynomials”, recently introduced in the literature, is shown, resorting to the Lie algebra based investigation of the dynamics of quantum systems driven by two-mode interaction Hamiltonians. Starting with a regular symmetric Dirichlet form on a locally compact separable metric space XX, our paper studies elements of vector analysis, LpLp-spaces of vector fields and related Sobolev spaces. These tools are then employed to obtain existence and uniqueness results for some quasilinear elliptic PDE and SPDE in variational form on XX by standard methods. For many of our results locality is not assumed, but most interesting applications involve local regular Dirichlet forms on fractal spaces such as nested fractals and Sierpinski carpets.  相似文献
