Measurements of densities, speeds of sound, excess volumes and viscosities of binary mixture of methyl tert-butyl ether with tetralin and decalin are reported at 303.15?K over the entire range of composition. Excess volumes are measured using batch dilatometer technique. Sound speeds are obtained using ultrasonic interferometer. Densities are computed from excess volume data. Isentropic compressibilities are derived from density and sound speed data. Speeds of sound are evaluated on the basis of Jacobson's free length theory and Schaff's collision factor theory. The predicted values are in good agreement with the experimental results. The viscosity data are analysed on the basis of corresponding states approach. Excess volumes and deviation in isentropic compressibilities are negative and deviation in viscosities are positive over the entire composition range. The experimental results are discussed in terms of possible molecular interactions between unlike molecules.  相似文献

 The most relevant defects in glasses and thin films on glasses are categorized and investigated by the appropriate microanalytical techniques. Knots, which are local glassy inclusions, are described in greater detail. The combination of EPMA/EDX and LA-ICP-MS allow the determination of element concentrations in the defect down into the low ppm range, thus finally enabling the identification of a special source of the defect from otherwise non distinguishable refractories. The results of analysis of stones and striae are reported and defect sources are discussed. Local defects in thin films are characterized which can be explained by high intrinsic compressive stress in the films. Typical glass and thin film defects are used to illustrate the problem-solving process in industrial labs.  相似文献

The kinetics of the sorption of water vapor on powders of crab-shell chitin and chitosan are studied via the methods of static sorption, thermography, and X-ray structural analysis. Sorption isotherms are obtained in the range of humidity from 10 to 95%. S-Shaped water-sorption isotherms observed for all chitin and chitosan samples are approximated via superpositioning of Langmuir and Flory-Huggins isotherms. The water-polysaccharide interaction parameters and the maximum sorption capacities of water located in chitin and chitosan are determined. The cluster integral is calculated, and the moisture values corresponding to water-cluster formation are determined. The water-diffusion coefficients are determined, and the effective activation energies of water diffusion are estimated: 70 kJ/mol in chitosan and 60 kJ/mol in chitin. The data on the concentration dependences of the coefficients of diffusion of water in the powdered chitin and chitosan are summarized.  相似文献

The structures, energetics, electronic properties, and spectra of hydrated hydroxide anions are studied using density functional and high level ab initio calculations. The overall structures and binding energies are similar to the hydrated anion clusters, in particular, to the hydrated fluoride anion clusters except for the tetrahydrated clusters and hexahydrated clusters. In tetrahydrated system, tricoordinated structures and tetracoordinated structures are compatible, while in pentahydrated systems and hexahydrated systems, tetracoordinated structures are stable. The hexahydrated system is similar in structure to the hydrated chloride cluster. The thermodynamic quantities (enthalpies and free energies) of the clusters are in good agreement with the experimental values. The electronic properties induced by hydration are similar to hydrated chloride anions. The charge-transfer-to-solvent energies of these hydrated-hydroxide anions are discussed, and the predicted ir spectra are used to explain the experimental data in terms of the cluster structures. The low-energy barriers between the conformations along potential energy surfaces are reported.  相似文献

Arylhydrazines are detected by oxidation with N-bromosuccinimide and coupling with resorcinol to form azo-dyes which are intensely coloured in alkaline media. Hydrazones and osazones are hydrolysed to form the arylhydrazines, which are then tested for 4-Nitro- and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazines are tested for by forming their hydrazone with salicylaldehyde and adding alkali to produce a violet colour. The hydroxylamine formed by the hydrolysis of oximes is oxidized by iodine monochloride in the presence of sulphanilic acid; coupling with 8-hydroxyquinoline forms a dye that is red in alkali. Intense colours are immediately produced when primary, secondary and tertiary aromatic amines are mixed with diacetoxyiodobenzene. All the tests are sensitive and appear to be specific.  相似文献

By means of instrumental neutron activation, more than 20 trace elements are determined in suspended matter in Rhine water, Main water and Rhine sediments. Monoelement and multielement standards are used for calibration. Sample collection, separation of suspended matter by filtration or centrifugating and sample preparation are described. The results obtained by filtration and by centrifuging are compared. Interferences in evaluation of the γ-spectra and their influence on the results are discussed. Inorganic electrides are a novel kind of ionic compounds in which the anions are electrons confined in a complex array of cavities or channels and the cations are nanoscale arrays of alkali metal ions that provide charge balance. In electrides the donated electron behaves like a low-density correlated electron gas, whereby the dimensionality of the electron gas and its electronic and magnetic properties are determined by the topology of the cavities in the host matrix. Unlike traditional electrides, in which alkali cations are encapsulated within an organic cage, inorganic electrides are thermally stable. The current inorganic electrides based on alkali metal loaded zeolites can be designed as useful reduced-dimensionality materials. Inorganic electrides are powerful reducing agents, and they are able to reduce small aromatic molecules to the radical anions within the channels of the zeolite.  相似文献

The role of dietary fat in health and wellness continues to evolve. In today's environment, trans fatty acids and obesity are issues that are impacted by dietary fat. In response to new information in these areas, changes in the amount and composition of edible fats and oils have occurred and are occurring. These compositional changes include variation in fatty acid composition and innovation in fat structure. Soybean, canola, and sunflower are examples of oilseeds with varied fatty acid composition, including mid-oleic, high-oleic, and low-linolenic traits. These trait-enhanced oils are aimed to displace partially hydrogenated vegetable oils primarily in frying applications. Examples of oils with innovation in fat structure include enzyme interesterified (EIE) fats and oils and diacylglycerol oil. EIE fats are a commercial edible fat innovation, where a lipase is used to modify the fat structure of a blend of hard fat and liquid oil. EIE fats are aimed to displace partially hydrogenated vegetable oils in baking and spread applications. Diacylglycerol and medium-chain triglyceride (MCT)-based oils are commercial edible oil innovations. Diacylglycerol and MCT-based oils are aimed for individuals looking to store less of these fats as body fat when they are used in place of traditional cooking and salad oils.  相似文献

Simulation studies on a model system of a spherical ion with various charges in two imidazolium ionic liquids and in acetonitrile are compared. The average vertical ionisation potentials as a function of the charge on the ion are similar for all three systems. The Landau free energies of each system as a function of the vertical ionisation potential are computed and are close to being parabolic. Results are shown for the solvent reorganisation energies and for the activation free energies. The similarities of all these quantities are interpreted in terms of continuum models. However, the dynamics are likely to be very different in a polar liquid and in an ionic liquid as in the former case screening occurs by reorientation of molecules and in the latter case it occurs by translation of ions.  相似文献

Energy minimization and molecular dynamics simulations are used to develop, for the first time, atomistic models of HCl- and HBr-doped conducting polyanilines, in order to study diffusion and adsorption of water vapor in the polymers. Various morphological properties of the polymers are computed, including their pair correlation functions that are found to be in good agreement with the experimental data, and their accessible free volumes. Also computed are the sorption isotherms and effective self-diffusivity of water vapor in the polymers. The computed sorption isotherms are in quantitative agreement with the experimental data, while the diffusivities are within an order of magnitude of the data. The reasons for the differences between the computed and measured diffusivities are discussed.  相似文献

Materials with switchable surfaces, capable of changing surface properties under external stimuli, are playing a pivotal role in many applications, such as tissue engineering, biosensors, and drug/protein delivery. In this research silica particles with patterned and switchable surfaces are fabricated. Surface micelles on silica particles are formed by coassembly of polymer brushes and “free” block copolymer chains in a selective solvent. The cores of the surface micelles are crosslinked by anthracene photodimerization. After quaternization of the coronae, amphiphilic surface micelles are prepared. The surface micelles are able to rearrange in different media. After treatment with an organic solvent, the surfaces of silica particles are occupied by hydrophobic polymer components; in aqueous solution, the positively charged polymer chains are on the surfaces. The switching of the surface micelles results in changes in surface composition and wetting behaviors.  相似文献

The use of steady state fluorescence spectroscopy in the detection and monitoring of potential photochemotherapeutic agents is examined. Problems associated with both in vitro and in vivo fluorescence measurements are investigated, and typical data are presented. Recent results on the use of fluorescence in pharmacokinetic studies are discussed, and the relative merits of in vitro vs. in vivo methods are outlined.  相似文献

Hydrophilic phenols are the most abundant natural antioxidants of virgin olive oil (VOO), in which, however, tocopherols and carotenes are also present. The prevalent classes of hydrophilic phenols found in VOO are phenolic alcohols, phenolic acids, flavonoids, lignans and secoiridoids. Secoiridoids, that include aglycon derivatives of oleuropein, demethyloleuropein and ligstroside, that are present in olive fruit, are the most abundant phenolic antioxidants of VOO. The sensory and healthy proprieties of VOO hydrophilic phenols as well as the agronomic and technological parameters that affect their concentration in the oil are discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Ultrafast spectrally resolved stimulated vibrational echo experiments are used to measure the vibrational dephasing of the CO stretching mode of hemoglobin-CO (HbCO) inside living human erythrocytes (red blood cells), in liquid solutions, and in a glassy matrix. A method is presented to overcome the adverse impact on the vibrational echo signal from the strong light scattering caused by the cells. The results from the cytoplasmic HbCO are compared to experiments on aqueous HbCO samples prepared in different buffers, solutions containing low and high concentrations of glycerol, and in a solid trehalose matrix. Measurements are also presented that provide an accurate determination of the viscosity at the very high Hb concentration that is found inside the cells. It is demonstrated that the dynamics of the protein, as sensed by the CO ligand, are the same inside the erythrocytes and in aqueous solution and are independent of the viscosity. In solutions that are predominantly glycerol, the dynamics are modified somewhat but are still independent of viscosity. The experiments in trehalose give the dynamics at infinite viscosity and are used to separate the viscosity-dependent dynamics from the viscosity-independent dynamics. Although the HbCO dynamics are the same in the red blood cell and in the equivalent aqueous solutions, differences in the absorption spectra show that the distribution of a protein's equilibrium substates is sensitive to small pH differences.  相似文献
