After pointing out that the two-gluon decay mode of theZ 0 vanishes, we calculate, in detail, the differential and the total decay rates forZ 0ggg. Using the standard Glashow-Weinberg-Salam model and Quantum Chromodynamics, we find a branching ratio of 1.8×10?5. We also discussZggγ andZ 0→γγγ. As a natural extension of this work, we present the details of a calculation of the differential and the total cross sections for the processe + e ?ggg mediated by a virtual photon in the continuum. A detailed comparison with \(e^ + e^ - \to q\bar qg\) and a brief discussion ofe + e ?ggγ ande + e ?→γγγ are also given.  相似文献

The dependence of the K +π 0 l + ν lγ decay rate on the T-odd kinematical variable ξ = q · [p l × p π]/m K 3 is investigated in the tree and one-loop approximations of the Standard Model (SM). It is shown that the partial width of the decay on the tree level is an even function of the variable ξ, whereas the odd component is generated by the electromagnetic final-state interaction and determined by the imaginary parts of one-loop diagrams. The ξ-odd components of the partial widths of the K +π 0e+ ν e γ and K +μ 0μ+ ν μ γ decays calculated in the one-loop approximation are smaller by four orders of magnitude than the even components evaluated from the tree-level SM diagrams.  相似文献

The complete matrix element for e + e? → bb?W+ W? is computed at tree-level within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Rates of interest to phenomenological analyses at the Next Linear Collider are given. In particular, we study:
  • ? tt? production and decay tt? →(bW +)(b?W ?)
  • ? ZH production followed by Z → bb? and HW + W?
  • ? AH production followed by A→ bb? and HW + W?
  • ? hW + W? production followed by h→ bb?.
Top and Higgs finite width effects are included, as well as all those of the irreducible backgrounds.  相似文献

We have measured collinear and nearly collinear photon pairs from e+e? annihilation at total energies covering the resonance at 3100 MeV. The observed cross section is in good agreement with the e+e?γγ cross section expected from quantum electrodynamics. Upper limits for the decay modes (3100) → γγ, πOγ and other modes are derived.  相似文献

We analyze the coupling of CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons to a photon and a Z boson in extensions, of the Standard Model. In particular, we study in detail the effect of charged Higgs bosons in two-Higgs doublet models;. and the contribution of SUSY particle loops in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model: The Higgs-γZ coupling can be measured in the decayZ → γ+Higgs ate + e ? colliders running on theZ resonance, or in the reverse process Higgs →Zγ with the Higgs boson produced at LHC. We show that a measurement of this coupling with a precision at the percent level, which could be the case at futuree + e ? colliders, would allow to distinguish between the lightest SUSY and standard Higgs bosons in large areas of the parameter space.  相似文献

The e + e ? → ω, ρ → π0 e + e ? processes have been investigated in the experiments with Spherical Neutral Detector at the VEPP-2M e + e ? collider. The measurements provide the probability ?(ω → π0 e + e ?) = (0.761 ± 0.053 ± 0.064) × 10?3 of the ω → π0 e + e g- conversion decay and the upper limit ?(ρ → π0 e + e ?) < 1.2 × 10?5 (at 90% CL) for the ρ → π0 e + e ? decay. The transition form factor was measured at three values of the 4-momentum transfer squared.  相似文献

Annihilation of e+e? into final states with a single electron has been studied with the PLUTO detector at the DORIS storage ring at CMS energies from 3.6 to 5 GeV. In the sample of 4-prong events without any detected photon we observe 21 events which we assign to the reaction e+e?τ+τ?ννe + ν?0π. We obtain a branching ratio for τ+ν?0π+ of 0.050 ± 0.015 with an overall systematic uncertainty of 30%. The data are consistent with the ?π coming from an A1 meson.  相似文献

Thermal photons can provide information on the temperature of the new state of matter created at RHIC. In the pT region of 1–3 GeV/c thermal photons are expected to be the dominant direct photon source. Therefore, a possible excess compared to a pure decay photon signal due to a thermal photon contribution should be seen in the double ratio (γ/γ(π0))Measured/(γ/γ(π0))Simulated, if sufficient accuracy can be reached. Damping of an electromagnetic wave in a strong magnetic field is analyzed in the kinematic region near the threshold of electron-positron pair production. Damping of the electromagnetic field is shown to be noticeably nonexponential in this region. The resulting width of the photon γ→e + e ? decay is considerably smaller than previously known results.  相似文献

We consider the radiative decays of the 3S1 ground state QQ into a real photon and two light pseudoscalar or vector mesons. For sufficiently large mass of the heavy quark Q, the decay, e.g. ?γππ, can be calculated in perturbative QCD, provided that the photon does not carry away a predominant fraction of the available energy. We present differential and integrated Dalitz plot distributions and, for quarkonium states produced with transverse polarization in e+e? annihilation, angular distributions of the orientation of the decay triangle relative to the beam direction.  相似文献

Using the VENUS detector at TRISTAN we have investigated the charm-quark production by detecting D *+ - mesons in the two-photon process of e + e t - collisions. The study has confirmed that the charm-quark production rate is larger than that predicted from direct cc? production alone. The distribution of the transverse momentum of the D *+ t- mesons and the forward energy flow associated with the D *+ - production suggest that the main part of the observed excess comes from the contribution of a resolved photon process.  相似文献

For the decay process K +μ + νγ, the effect of muon transverse polarization caused by electromagnetic final-state interaction is analyzed. It is shown that, in the one-loop approximation, the muon transverse polarization varies from ?1.3×10?3 to zero in the region of the Dalitz plot. The mean value of the muon polarization, 〈P T〉, in the kinematical region E γ ≥20 MeV is ?5.44×10?4.  相似文献

The analysis of the reaction e+e?π+π? measured at the e+e? colliding beam machine ADONE shows that, if ?′ and ?″ exist, the cross sections compare as follows (taking the ? as the reference point): σ(e+e? → ? → π +π?): σ(e+e??′ → π+π?): σ(e+e??″ → π+π?) = 1: (7 ± 4) × 10?3: (1 ± 5) × 10?4. Numerical results for the α3 differential cross section for e+e? → e+e? are presented for the case of e+e? colliding beams. Special care is given to the hard photon corrections. Acoplanarity distributions for e+e? → e+e?γ are also presented. Attention is drawn to experimental conditions which require the calculation of still higher order corrections.  相似文献

Measurements involving more than one photon (e.g., γγ → hadrons, e+e- → qqγ) can determine the electric charge of colored quarks rather than the color-averaged value measured, for example, by the R-value in e+e- → hadrons. We draw attention to the fact that this measurement of the absolute quark charges can be performed in hadron collisions via the process qq → qqγ. The charge signature is dramatic due to the appearance of radiation zeroes whose position depends on the values of the electric charges. This can be exploited to perform such measurements with a detector lacking γ/π0 separation capability. Such experiments also study the interface of color and electromagnetic amplitudes and can further elucidate the QCD origin of jets.  相似文献

The muon spectra from the decays ofW-andZ-bosons, produced ine + e ?W + W ?,e + e ?Zγ,e + e ?ZZ ande + e ?ZH reactions have been obtained (H is the Higgs boson). It has been shown (in terms of Glashow-Weinberg-Salam theory) that the main source of muons are thee + e ?Zγ ande + e ?W + W ? processes (over theW-boson production threshold). The contribution of thee + e ?ZZ ande + e ?ZH reactions to the inclusive muon spectra is small. It has been also shown, that it is possible to distinguish contributions of thee + e ?Zγ ande + e ?W + W ? reactions if the decay muons move at a small angle to the initial electron momentum.  相似文献

Sensitivity to anomalous ZZγγ and Zγγγ couplings in Zγγ production was probed for the ATLAS experiment at Large Hadron Collider. Zγγ process with anomalous couplings simulation in ppcollisions with √ s = 13 TeV was performed using VBFNLO MC generator. The expected limits on the Effective Field Theory parameters f T0/Λ4, f T5/Λ4, f T9/Λ4, f M2/Λ4, f M3/Λ4 were extracted for 5 fb?1 integral luminosity using the distribution on the invariant mass of Zγγ from the combination of charged leptonic decay channels of Z boson (Zγγ → μ+μ?γγ and Zγγ → e+e?γγ).  相似文献

Irreducible background effects due to e + e ?W ± + bbjj and e + e ?W ± + jjjj events produced via QCD in top-antitop production and heavy Higgs searches in the bremsstrahlung channel are studied at the Next Linear Collider. Various distributions relevant to phenomenological analyses are given and compared to those expected from top and Higgs signals in the decay channel bb?W + W ?bb?W ± jj. Attention is paid to the production mechanisms of light scalars that reveal their nature. We reveal the chiral shielding of the σ(600) meson. We show that the kaon loop mechanism of the ? radiative decays, ratified by experiment, is four-quark transition and points to the four-quark nature of light scalars. We show also that the light scalars are produced in the two photon collisions via four-quark transitions in contrast to the classic P wave tensor qq? mesons that are produced via two-quark transitions γγ → qq?. We study the mechanism of production of the light scalar mesons in the D s + → π+π? e +ν decays: D s + ss?e +ν → [σ(600) + f 0(980)]e +ν → π+π? e +ν, and compare it with the mechanism of production of the light pseudoscalar mesons in the D s + → (η/η′)e +ν decays: D s + ss?e +ν → (η/η′)e +ν. As a result we find support to four-quark nature of light scalars. In the end, we outline the future research program.  相似文献
