Let V(x) be a non-negative, bounded potential in RN, N?3 and p supercritical, . We look for positive solutions of the standing-wave nonlinear Schrödinger equation ΔuV(x)u+up=0 in RN, with u(x)→0 as |x|→+∞. We prove that if V(x)=o(−2|x|) as |x|→+∞, then for N?4 and this problem admits a continuum of solutions. If in addition we have, for instance, V(x)=O(|x|μ) with μ>N, then this result still holds provided that N?3 and . Other conditions for solvability, involving behavior of V at ∞, are also provided.  相似文献

We establish several existence and nonexistence results for the boundary value problem −Δu+K(x)g(u)=λf(x,u)+μh(x) in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a smooth bounded domain in , λ and μ are positive parameters, h is a positive function, while f has a sublinear growth. The main feature of this paper is that the nonlinearity g is assumed to be unbounded around the origin. Our analysis shows the importance of the role played by the decay rate of g combined with the signs of the extremal values of the potential K(x) on . The proofs are based on various techniques related to the maximum principle for elliptic equations.  相似文献

In this paper we study Cauchy problem of generalized double dispersion equations uttuxxuxxtt+uxxxx=f(u)xx, where f(u)=p|u|, p>1 or u2k, . By introducing a family of potential wells we not only get a threshold result of global existence and nonexistence of solutions, but also obtain the invariance of some sets and vacuum isolating of solutions. In addition, the global existence and finite time blow up of solutions for problem with critical initial conditions E(0)=d, I(u0)?0 or I(u0)<0 are proved.  相似文献

We study the problem of removability of isolated singularities for a general second-order quasi-linear equation in divergence form −divA(x,u,∇u)+a0(x,u)+g(x,u)=0 in a punctured domain Ω?{0}, where Ω is a domain in Rn, n?3. The model example is the equation −Δpu+gu|u|p−2+u|u|q−1=0, q>p−1>0, p<n. Assuming that the lower-order terms satisfy certain non-linear Kato-type conditions, we prove that for all point singularities of the above equation are removable, thus extending the seminal result of Brezis and Véron.  相似文献

We establish that for n?3 and p>1, the elliptic equation Δu+K(x)up=0 in Rn possesses a continuum of positive entire solutions with logarithmic decay at ∞, provided that a locally Hölder continuous function K?0 in Rn?{0}, satisfies K(x)=O(σ|x|) at x=0 for some σ>−2, and 2|x|K(x)=c+O([log|x|]θ) near ∞ for some constants c>0 and θ>1. The continuum contains at least countably many solutions among which any two do not intersect. This is an affirmative answer to an open question raised in [S. Bae, T.K. Chang, On a class of semilinear elliptic equations in Rn, J. Differential Equations 185 (2002) 225-250]. The crucial observation is that in the radial case of K(r)=K(|x|), two fundamental weights, and , appear in analyzing the asymptotic behavior of solutions.  相似文献

We study the existence, nonexistence and multiplicity of positive solutions for a family of problems −Δpu=fλ(x,u), , where Ω is a bounded domain in RN, N>p, and λ>0 is a parameter. The family we consider includes the well-known nonlinearities of Ambrosetti-Brezis-Cerami type in a more general form, namely λa(x)uq+b(x)ur, where 0?q<p−1<r?p−1. Here the coefficient a(x) is assumed to be nonnegative but b(x) is allowed to change sign, even in the critical case. Preliminary results of independent interest include the extension to the p-Laplacian context of the Brezis-Nirenberg result on local minimization in and , a C1,α estimate for equations of the form −Δpu=h(x,u) with h of critical growth, a strong comparison result for the p-Laplacian, and a variational approach to the method of upper-lower solutions for the p-Laplacian.  相似文献

We study smoothing properties for time-dependent Schrödinger equations , , with potentials which satisfy V(x)=O(|x|m) at infinity, m?2. We show that the solution u(t,x) is 1/m times differentiable with respect to x at almost all , and explain that this is the result of the fact that the sojourn time of classical particles with energy λ in arbitrary compact set is less than CTλ−1/m during [0,T] when λ is very large. We also show Strichartz's inequality with derivative loss for such potentials and give its application to nonlinear Schrödinger equations.  相似文献
