On the Equivalence and Generalized of Weyl Theorem Weyl Theorem   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We know that an operator T acting on a Banach space satisfying generalized Weyl's theorem also satisfies Weyl's theorem. Conversely we show that if all isolated eigenvalues of T are poles of its resolvent and if T satisfies Weyl's theorem, then it also satisfies generalized Weyl's theorem. We give also a sinlilar result for the equivalence of a-Weyl's theorem and generalized a-Weyl's theorem. Using these results, we study the case of polaroid operators, and in particular paranormal operators.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of multiple solutions for nonlinear scalar periodic problems at resonance with p-Laplacian-like operator. We introduce a q-differential operator Dxy on functions in two variables which turns out to be suitable for dealing with the homogeneous form of the q-binomial theorem as studied by Andrews, Goldman, and Rota, Roman, Ihrig, and Ismail, et al. The homogeneous versions of the q-binomial theorem and the Cauchy identity are often useful for their specializations of the two parameters. Using this operator, we derive an equivalent form of the Goldman–Rota binomial identity and show that it is a homogeneous generalization of the q-Vandermonde identity. Moreover, the inverse identity of Goldman and Rota also follows from our unified identity. We also obtain the q-Leibniz formula for this operator. In the last section, we introduce the homogeneous Rogers–Szegö polynomials and derive their generating function by using the homogeneous q-shift operator.  相似文献

The famous theorem of Belyi states that the compact Riemann surface X can be defined over the number field if and only if X can be uniformized by a finite index subgroup Γ of a Fuchsian triangle group Λ. As a result such surfaces are now called Belyi surfaces. The groups PSL(2,q),q=p n are known to act as the groups of automorphisms on such surfaces. Certain aspects of such actions have been extensively studied in the literature. In this paper, we deal with symmetries. Singerman showed, using acertain result of Macbeath, that such surfaces admit a symmetry which we shall call in this paper the Macbeath-Singerman symmetry. A classical theorem by Harnack states that the set of fixed points of a symmetry of a Riemann surface X of genus g consists of k disjoint Jordan curves called ovals for some k ranging between 0 and g+1. In this paper we show that given an odd prime p, a Macbetah-Singerman symmetry of Belyi surface with PSL(2,p) as a group of automorphisms has at most  相似文献

In some recent works we have developed a new functional calculus for bounded and unbounded quaternionic operators acting on a quaternionic Banach space. That functional calculus is based on the theory of slice regular functions and on a Cauchy formula which holds for particular domains where the admissible functions have power series expansions. In this paper, we use a new version of the Cauchy formula with slice regular kernel to extend the validity of the quaternionic functional calculus to functions defined on more general domains. Moreover, we show some of the algebraic properties of the quaternionic functional calculus such as the S-spectral radius theorem and the S-spectral mapping theorem. Our functional calculus is also a natural tool to define the semigroup e tA when A is a linear quaternionic operator.   相似文献

If H is an isotype knice subgroup of a global Warfield group G, we introduce the notion of a k-subgroup to obtain various necessary and sufficient conditions on the quotient group G/H in order for H itself to be a global Warfield group. Our main theorem is that H is a global Warfield group if and only if G/H possesses an H(ℵ0)-family of almost strongly separable k-subgroups. By an H(ℵ0)-family we mean an Axiom 3 family in the strong sense of P. Hill. As a corollary to the main theorem, we are able to characterize those global k-groups of sequentially pure projective dimension ⩽ 1.  相似文献

Using a generalization of the classical ballot theorem, Niu and Cooper [7] established a duality relation between the joint distribution of several variables associated with the busy cycle inM/G/1 (with a modified first service) and the corresponding joint distribution of several related variables in its dualGI/M/1. In this note, we generalize this duality relation toGI/G/1 queues with modified first services; this clarifies the original result, and shows that the generalized ballot theorem is superfluous for the duality relation.  相似文献

We investigate nonlinear pseudodifferential equations with infinitely many derivatives. These are equations of a new class, and they originally appeared in p-adic string theory. Their investigation is of interest in mathematical physics and its applications, in particular, in string theory and cosmology. We undertake a systematic mathematical investigation of the properties of these equations and prove the main uniqueness theorem for the solution in an algebra of generalized functions. We discuss boundary problems for bounded solutions and prove the existence theorem for spatially homogeneous solutions for odd p. For even p, we prove the absence of a continuous nonnegative solution interpolating between two vacuums and indicate the possible existence of discontinuous solutions. We also consider the multidimensional equation and discuss soliton and q-brane solutions.  相似文献

A characterization of n-dimensional spaces via continuous selections avoiding Z n -sets is given, and a selection theorem for strongly countable-dimensional spaces is established. We apply these results to prove a generalized Ostrand's theorem, and to obtain a new alternative proof of the Hurewicz formula. It is also shown that our selection theorem yields an easy proof of a Michael's result.  相似文献

An “m-consecutive-k-out-of-n:F system” consists of n components ordered on a line; the system fails if and only if there are at least m nonoverlapping runs of k consecutive failed components. In this paper, we give a recursive formula to compute the reliability of such a system. Thereafter, we state two asymptotic results concerning the failure time Z n of the system. The first result concerns a limit theorem for Z n when the failure times of components are not necessarily with identical failure distributions. In the second one, we prove that, for an arbitrary common failure distribution of components, the limit system failure distribution is always of the Poisson class.   相似文献

A consective k-out-of-n system consists of n linearly or cycliccally ordered components such that the system fails if and only if at least k consecutive components fail. In this paper we consider a maintained system where each component is repaired independently of the others according to an exponential distribution. Assuming general lifetime distributions for system's components we prove a limit theorem for the time to first failure of both linear and circular systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce relaxed η-α-P-monotone mapping, and by utilizing KKM technique and Nadler’s Lemma we establish some existence results for the generalized mixed vector variational-like inequality problem. Further, we give the concepts of η-complete semicontinuity and η-strong semicontinuity and prove the solvability for generalized mixed vector variational-like inequality problem without monotonicity assumption by applying the Brouwer’s fixed point theorem. In this paper, we introduce a new system of generalized mixed quasi-variational-like inclusions with (A, η, m)-accretive operators and relaxed cocoercive mappings. By using the fixed point theorem of Nadler, we prove the existence of solutions for this general system of generalized mixed quasi-variational-like inclusions and its special cases. The results in this paper unify, extend and improve some known results in the literature. The novel proof method is simpler than those iterative algorithm approach for proving the existence of solutions of all classes of system of set-valued variational inclusions in the literature.  相似文献

We study in this paper some limit theorems for U-processes. We calculate rates of convergence in the central limit theorem of nondegenerate U-processes under metric entropy with bracketing condition. In this paper, we introduce the 'semi-topological K-homology' of complex varieties, a theory related to semi-topological K-theory much as connective topological K-homology is related to connective topological K-theory. Our main theorem is that the semi-topological K-homology of a smooth, quasi-projective complex variety Y coincides with the connective topological K-homology of the associated analytic space Y an. From this result, we deduce a pair of results relating semi-topological K-theory with connective topological K-theory. In particular, we prove that the 'Bott inverted' semi-topological K-theory of a smooth, projective complex variety X coincides with the topological K-theory of X an. In combination with a result of Friedlander and the author, this gives a new proof, in the special case of smooth, projective complex varieties, of Thomason's celebrated theorem that 'Bott inverted' algebraic K-theory with /n coefficients coincides with topological K-theory with /n coefficients.  相似文献
