The bidentate P,N hybrid ligand 1 allows access for the first time to novel cationic phosphinine‐based RhIII and IrIII complexes, broadening significantly the scope of low‐coordinate aromatic phosphorus heterocycles for potential applications. The coordination chemistry of 1 towards RhIII and IrIII was investigated and compared with the analogous 2,2′‐bipyridine derivative, 2‐(2′‐pyridyl)‐4,6‐diphenylpyridine ( 2 ), which showed significant differences. The molecular structures of [RhCl(Cp*)( 1 )]Cl and [IrCl(Cp*)( 1 )]Cl (Cp*=pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) were determined by means of X‐ray diffraction and confirm the mononuclear nature of the λ3‐phosphinine–RhIII and IrIII complexes. In contrast, a different reactivity and coordination behavior was found for the nitrogen analogue 2 , especially towards RhIII as a bimetallic ion pair [RhCl(Cp*)( 2 )]+[RhCl3(Cp*)]? is formed rather than a mononuclear coordination compound. [RhCl(Cp*)( 1 )]Cl and [IrCl(Cp*)( 1 )]Cl react with water regio‐ and diastereoselectively at the external P?C double bond, leading exclusively to the anti‐addition products [MCl(Cp*)( 1 H ? OH)]Cl as confirmed by X‐ray crystal‐structure determination.  相似文献

MeNH(2) reacts with silver salts AgX (2:1) to give [Ag(NH(2)Me)(2)]X [X = TfO = CF(3)SO(3) (1.TfO) and ClO(4) (1.ClO(4))]. Neutral mono(amino) Rh(III) complexes [Rh(Cp*)Cl(2)(NH(2)R)] [R = Me (2a), To = C(6)H(4)Me-4 (2b)] have been prepared by reacting [Rh(Cp*)Cl(mu-Cl)](2) with RNH(2) (1:2). The following cationic methyl amino complexes have also been prepared: [Rh(Cp*)Cl(NH(2)Me)(PPh(3))]TfO (3.TfO), from [Rh(Cp*)Cl(2)(PPh(3))] and 1.TfO (1:1); [Rh(Cp*)Cl(NH(2)R)2]X, where R = Me, X = Cl, (4a.Cl), from [Rh(Cp*)Cl(mu-Cl)]2 and MeNH2 (1:4), or R = Me, X = ClO4 (4a.ClO4), from 4a.Cl and NaClO4 (1:4.8), or R = To, X = TfO (4b.TfO), from [Rh(Cp*)Cl(mu-Cl)](2), ToNH(2) and TlTfO (1:4:2); [Rh(Cp*)(NH(2)Me)(tBubpy)](TfO)(2) (tBubpy = 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine, 5.TfO), from 2a, TlTfO and tBubpy (1:2:1); [Rh(Cp*)(NH(2)Me)(3)](TfO)2 (6.TfO) from [Rh(Cp*)Cl(mu-Cl)](2) and 1.TfO (1:4). 2-6 constitute the first family of methyl amino complexes of rhodium. 1 and 4a.ClO(4) react with acetone to give, respectively, the methyl imino complexes [Ag{N(Me)=CMe(2)}()]X [X = TfO (7.TfO), ClO(4) (7.ClO(4))], and [Rh(Cp*)Cl(Me-imam)]ClO(4) [8.ClO(4), Me-imam = N,N'-N(Me)=C(Me)CH(2)C(Me)(2)NHMe]. 7.X (X = TfO, ClO(4)) are new members of the small family of methyl acetimino complexes of any metal whereas 8.ClO4 results after a double acetone condensation to give the corresponding bis(methyl acetimino) complex and an aldol-like condensation of the two imino ligands. The acetimino complex [Ag(NH=CMe(2))(2)]ClO(4) reacts with [Rh(Cp*)Cl(imam)]ClO(4) [1:1, imam = N,N'-NH=C(Me)CH(2)C(Me)(2)NH(2)] to give [Rh(Cp*)(imam)(NH=CMe(2))](ClO(4))(2) (9a.ClO(4)). 8.ClO(4) reacts with AgClO(4) (1:1) in MeCN to give [Rh(Cp*)(Me-imam)(NCMe)](ClO(4))2 (9b.ClO(4)), which in turn reacts with XyNC (Xy = C(6)H(3)Me(2)-2,6) or with MeNH(2) (1:1) to give [Rh(Cp*)(Me-imam)L](ClO(4))(2) [L = XyNC (9c.ClO(4)), MeNH(2) (9d.ClO(4))]. 6.TfO reacts with acetophenone to give [Rh(Cp*){C,N-C(6)H(4)C(Me)=N(Me)-2}(NH(2)Me)]TfO (10a.TfO), the first complex resulting from such a condensation and cyclometalation reaction. In turn, 10a.TfO reacts with isocyanides RNC (1:1) at room temperature to give [Rh(Cp*){C,N-C(6)H(4)C(Me)=NMe-2}(CNR)]TfO [R = tBu (10b.TfO), Xy (10c.TfO)], or 1:12 at 60 degrees C to give [Rh(Cp*){C,N-C(=NXy)C(6)H(4)C(Me)=N(Me)-2}(CNXy)]TfO (11.TfO). The crystal structures of 9a.ClO(4).acetone-d6, 9c.ClO(4), and 10a.TfO have been determined.  相似文献

On the Reactivity of Titanocene Complexes [Ti(Cp′)22‐Me3SiC≡CSiMe3)] (Cp′ = Cp, Cp*) towards Benzenedicarboxylic Acids Titanocene complexes [Ti(Cp′)2(BTMSA)] ( 1a , Cp′ = Cp = η5‐C5H5; 1b , Cp′ = Cp* = η5‐C5Me5; BTMSA = Me3SiC≡CSiMe3) were found to react with iodine and methyl iodide yielding [Ti(Cp′)2(μ‐I)2] ( 2a / b ; a refers to Cp′ = Cp and b to Cp′ = Cp*), [Ti(Cp′)2I2] ( 3a / b ) and [Ti(Cp′)2(Me)I] ( 4a / b ), respectively. In contrast to 2a , complex 2b proved to be highly moisture sensitive yielding with cleavage of HCp* [{Ti(Cp*)I}2(μ‐O)] ( 7 ). The corresponding reactions of 1a / b with p‐cresol and thiophenol resulted in the formation of [Ti(Cp′)2{O(p‐Tol)}2] ( 5a / b ) and [Ti(Cp′)2(SPh)2] ( 6a / b ), respectively. Reactions of 1a and 1b with 1,n‐benzenedicarboxylic acids (n = 2–4) resulted in the formation of dinuclear titanium(III) complexes of the type [{Ti(Cp′)2}2{μ‐1,n‐(O2C)2C6H4}] (n = 2, 8a / b ; n = 3, 9a / b ; n = 4, 10a / b ). All complexes were fully characterized analytically and spectroscopically. Furthermore, complexes 7 , 8b , 9a ·THF, 10a / b were also be characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analyses.  相似文献

Low‐temperature (200 K) protonation of [Mo(CO)(Cp*)H(PMe3)2] ( 1 ) by Et2O ? HBF4 gives a different result depending on a subtle solvent change: The dihydrogen complex [Mo(CO)(Cp*)(η2‐H2)(PMe3)2]+ ( 2 ) is obtained in THF, whereas the tautomeric classical dihydride [Mo(CO)(Cp*)(H)2(PMe3)2]+ ( 3 ) is the only observable product in dichloromethane. Both products were fully characterised (νCO IR; 1H, 31P, 13C NMR spectroscopies) at low temperature; they lose H2 upon warming to 230 K at approximately the same rate (ca. 10?3 s?1), with no detection of the non‐classical form in CD2Cl2, to generate [Mo(CO)(Cp*)(FBF3)(PMe3)2] ( 4 ). The latter also slowly decomposes at ambient temperature. One of the decomposition products was crystallised and identified by X‐ray crystallography as [Mo(CO)(Cp*)(FH???FBF3)(PMe3)2] ( 5 ), which features a neutral HF ligand coordinated to the transition metal through the F atom and to the BF4? anion through a hydrogen bond. The reason for the switch in relative stability between 2 and 3 was probed by DFT calculations based on the B3LYP and M05‐2X functionals, with inclusion of anion and solvent effects by the conductor‐like polarisable continuum model and by explicit consideration of the solvent molecules. Calculations at the MP4(SDQ) and CCSD(T) levels were also carried out for calibration. The calculations reveal the key role of non‐covalent anion–solvent interactions, which modulate the anion–cation interaction ultimately altering the energetic balance between the two isomeric forms.  相似文献

Monocyclopentadienyl titanium imidazolin‐2‐iminato complexes [Cp′Ti(L)X2] 1a (Cp′ = cyclopentadienyl, L = 1,3‐di‐tert‐butylimidazolin‐2‐imide, X = Cl), 1b (X = CH3); 2 (Cp′ = cyclopentadienyl, L = 1,3‐diisopropylimidazolin‐2‐imide, X = Cl); 3 (Cp′ = tert‐butylcyclopentadienyl, L = 1,3‐di‐tert‐butylimidazolin‐2‐imide, X = Cl), upon activation with methylaluminoxane (MAO) were active for the polymerization of ethylene and propylene and the copolymerization of ethylene and 1‐hexene. Catalysts derived from imidazolin‐2‐iminato tropidinyl titanium complex 4 = [(Trop)Ti(L)Cl2] (Trop = tropidinyl, L = 1,3‐di‐tert‐butylimidazolin‐2‐imide) were much less active. Narrow polydispersities were observed for ethylene and propylene polymerization, but the copolymerization of ethylene/hexene led to bimodal molecular weight distributions. The productivity of catalysts derived from the dialkyl complex 1b activated with [Ph3C][B(C6F5)4] or B(C6F5)3 were less active for ethylene/hexene copolymerization but yielded ethylene/hexene copolymers of narrower molecular weight distributions than those derived from 1a/MAO. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Achiral P‐donor pincer‐aryl ruthenium complexes ([RuCl(PCP)(PPh3)]) 4c , d were synthesized via transcyclometalation reactions by mixing equivalent amounts of [1,3‐phenylenebis(methylene)]bis[diisopropylphosphine] ( 2c ) or [1,3‐phenylenebis(methylene)]bis[diphenylphosphine] ( 2d ) and the N‐donor pincer‐aryl complex [RuCl{2,6‐(Me2NCH2)2C6H3}(PPh3)], ( 3 ; Scheme 2). The same synthetic procedure was successfully applied for the preparation of novel chiral P‐donor pincer‐aryl ruthenium complexes [RuCl(P*CP*)(PPh3)] 4a , b by reacting P‐stereogenic pincer‐arenes (S,S)‐[1,3‐phenylenebis(methylene)]bis[(alkyl)(phenyl)phosphines] 2a , b (alkyl=iPr or tBu, P*CHP*) and the complex [RuCl{2,6‐(Me2NCH2)2C6H3}(PPh3)], ( 3 ; Scheme 3). The crystal structures of achiral [RuCl(equation/tex2gif-sup-3.gifPCP)(PPh3)] 4c and of chiral (S,S)‐[RuCl(equation/tex2gif-sup-6.gifPCP)(PPh3)] 4a were determined by X‐ray diffraction (Fig. 3). Achiral [RuCl(PCP)(PPh3)] complexes and chiral [RuCl(P*CP*)(PPh3)] complexes were tested as catalyst in the H‐transfer reduction of acetophenone with propan‐2‐ol. With the chiral complexes, a modest enantioselectivity was obtained.  相似文献

Syntheses and structures of five imido‐bridged dinuclear titanium complexes and two (bis)ligand‐coordinated mononuclear titanium complexes are reported. Addition of 1 or 2 equiv. of Schiff base ligand (((1H‐pyrrol‐2‐yl)methylene)amino)‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐inden‐2‐ol (H2L) to Ti(NMe2)4 resulted in transamination with 4 equiv. of dimethylamides generating a (bis)ligand‐coordinated complex Ti(L)2 ( 1 ). Treatment of Ti(NMe2)4 with 1 equiv. of tBuNH2 followed by addition of 1 equiv. of H2L afforded an imido‐bridged complex [Ti(L)(NtBu)]2 ( 2 ). 1:1:1:1 reaction of Ti(NMe2)4/RNH2/H2L/py(or phen) produced imido‐bridgedcomplexes [Ti(L)(NPh)(py)]2 ( 3 ), [Ti(L)(4‐F‐PhN)(py)]2·Tol ( 4 ·Tol), [Ti(L)(4‐Cl‐PhN)(py)]2·Tol·THF ( 5 ·Tol·THF), [Ti(L)(4‐Br‐PhN)(py)]2·Tol ( 6 ·Tol) and a (bis)ligand‐coordinated complex Ti(L)2·phen ( 7 ) (py = pyridine, phen = 1,10‐phenanthroline). Attempts to prepare the monomeric titianium imido complexes were unsuccessful. DFT studies show that the assumed compound which contains Ti = N species is less stable than imido‐bridged Ti‐N(R)‐Ti complexes, providing the better understanding of the experimental results.  相似文献

A series of imino‐indolate half‐titanocene chlorides, Cp′Ti(L)Cl2 ( C1 – C7 : Cp′ = C5H5, MeC5H4, C5Me5, L = imino‐indolate ligand), were synthesized by the reaction of Cp′TiCl3 with sodium imino‐indolates. All complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Moreover, the molecular structures of two representative complexes C4 and C6 were confirmed by single crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. On activation with methylaluminoxane (MAO), these complexes showed good catalytic activities for ethylene polymerization (up to 7.68 × 106 g/mol(Ti)·h) and ethylene/1‐hexene copolymerization (up to 8.32 × 106 g/mol(Ti)·h), producing polyolefins with high molecular weights (for polyethylene up to 1808 kg/mol, and for poly(ethylen‐co‐1‐hexene) up to 3290 kg/mol). Half‐titanocenes containing ligands with alkyl substituents showed higher catalytic activities, whereas the half‐titanocenes bearing methyl substituents on the cyclopentadienyl groups showed lower productivities, but produced polymers with higher molecular weights. Moreover, the copolymerization of ethylene and methyl 10‐undecenoate was demonstrated using the C1 /MAO catalytic system. The functionalized polyolefins obtained contained about 1 mol % of methyl 10‐undecenoate units and were fully characterized by several techniques such as FT‐IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, DSC, TGA and GPC analyses. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Chalcogen Derivatives of the Halfsandwich Tungsten(V) Complexes Cp*WCl4 and Cp*WCl4(PMe3). X‐Ray Crystal Structure Analyses of anti ‐[Cp*W(Se)(μ‐Se)]2 and Cp*W(S)2(OMe) The chalcogenation of Cp*WCl4 ( 1 ) by E(SiMe3)2 (E = S, Se) and Te(SiMe2tBu)2 in chloroform solution leads to dimeric products of the type anti‐[Cp*W(E)(μ‐E)]2 (E = S ( 3 a ), Se ( 3 b ) and Te ( 3 c )). An X‐ray structure determination of 3 b indicates a centrosymmetric molecule containing a planar W(μ‐Se)2W ring, the W–W distance (297.9(1) pm) corresponds to a single bond. In the presence of air the two terminal chalcogenido ligands (E) in 3 a – c are stepwise replaced by oxido ligands (O) to give [Cp*W(O)(μ‐E)]2 (E = S ( 5 a ), Se ( 5 b ) and Te ( 5 c )) in quantitative yields. The reaction of Cp*WCl4 with H2S or ammonium polysulfide, (NH4)2Sx (x ∼ 10), leads to Cp*W(S)2Cl ( 6 a ); the corresponding methoxy derivative, Cp*W(S)2OCH3 ( 9 a ), has been characterized by an X‐ray structure analysis. On the other hand, the reaction of Cp*WCl4(PMe3) ( 2 ) with sodium tetrasulfide, Na2S4, in dimethylformamide solution gives a mixture of mononuclear Cp*W(S)(S2)Cl ( 8 a ), dinuclear [Cp*W(S)(μ‐S)]2 ( 3 a ) and a trinuclear side‐product of composition Cp*2W3S7 ( 13 a ). Terminal sulfido ligands are replaced by terminal oxido ligands in solution in the presence of oxygen. Thus, 6 a is stepwise converted into Cp*W(O)(S)Cl ( 10 a ) and CpW(O)2Cl ( 12 a ), whereas 8 a gives Cp*W(O)(S2)Cl ( 11 a ) and 13 a leads to Cp*2W3(O)S6 ( 14 a ). The disulfido complexes 8 a and 11 a are desulfurized by triphenylphosphane to give 6 a and 10 a . The new complexes have been characterized by their IR and NMR spectra and by mass spectrometry.  相似文献

A series of mono‐, bis‐, and tris(phenoxy)–titanium(IV) chlorides of the type [Cp*Ti(2‐R? PhO)nCl3?n] (n=1–3; Cp*=pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) was prepared, in which R=Me, iPr, tBu, and Ph. The formation of each mono‐, bis‐, and tris(2‐alkyl‐/arylphenoxy) series was authenticated by structural studies on representative examples of the phenyl series including [Cp*Ti(2‐Ph? PhO)Cl2] ( 1 PhCl2 ), [Cp*Ti(2‐Ph? PhO)2Cl] ( 2 PhCl ), and [Cp*Ti(2‐Ph? PhO)3] ( 3 Ph ). The metal‐coordination geometry of each compound is best described as pseudotetrahedral with the Cp* ring and the 2‐Ph? PhO and chloride ligands occupying three leg positions in a piano‐stool geometry. The mean Ti? O distances, observed with an increasing number of 2‐Ph? PhO groups, are 1.784(3), 1.802(4), and 1.799(3) Å for 1 PhCl2 , 2 PhCl , and 3 Ph , respectively. All four alkyl/aryl series with Me, iPr, tBu, and Ph substituents were tested for ethylene homopolymerization after activation with Ph3C+[B(C6F5)4]? and modified methyaluminoxane (7% aluminum in isopar E; mMAO‐7) at 140 °C. The phenyl series showed much higher catalytic activity, which ranged from 43.2 and 65.4 kg (mmol of Ti?h)?1, than the Me, iPr, and tBu series (19.2 and 36.6 kg (mmol of Ti?h)?1). Among the phenyl series, the bis(phenoxide) complex of 2 PhCl showed the highest activity of 65.4 kg (mmol of Ti?h)?1. Therefore, the catalyst precursors of the phenyl series were examined by treating them with a variety of alkylating reagents, such as trimethylaluminum (TMA), triisobutylaluminum (TIBA), and methylaluminoxane (MAO). In all cases, 2 PhCl produced the most catalytically active alkylated species, [Cp*Ti(2‐Ph? PhO)MeCl]. This enhancement was further supported by DFT calculations based on the simplified model with TMA.  相似文献

A novel metallocene catalyst was prepared from the reaction of (η3‐pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)dimethylaluminum (Cp*AlMe2) and titanium(IV) n‐butoxide Ti(OBu)4. The resulting titanocene Cp*Ti(OBu)3 was combined with methylaluminoxane (MAO)/tri‐iso‐butylaluminum (TIBA) to carry out the syndiotactic polymerization of styrene. The resulting syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) possesses high syndiotacticity according to 13C NMR. Catalytic activity and the molecular weight of the resulting sPSs were discussed in terms of reaction temperature, concentration of MAO, amounts of scavenger TIBA added, and the hydrogen pressure applied during polymerization.  相似文献

Synthesis and characterization of a novel carbazole‐based monomer, 9‐(bicyclo[2.2.1]hept‐5‐en‐2‐ylmethyl)‐9H‐carbazole (BHMCZ) and its copolymerization with ethylene by using two metallocene/MAO catalyst systems are presented. The monomer was characterized by means of NMR spectroscopy, MS and elementary analysis. Copolymerization studies were conducted using [Ph2C(Ind)(Cp)ZrCl2] and [Ph2C(Flu)(Cp)ZrCl2] catalysts. The [Ph2C(Ind)(Cp)ZrCl2] catalyst gave a copolymer containing as much as 4.6 mol‐% of BHMCZ. Polymers were characterized using NMR spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).  相似文献

Details of the direct synthesis of cationic Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐arene) complexes from ruthenocene using microwave heating are reported. Developed for the important catalyst precursor [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐1‐4,4a,8a‐naphthalene)][PF6] reaction time could be shortened from three days to 15 min. The method was extended to [Ru(II)(η6‐benzene)(η5‐Cp)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐toluene)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐mesitylene)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐hexamethylbenzene)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5Cp)(η6‐indane)][PF6], [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐2,6‐dimethylnaphthalene)][PF6], and [Ru(II)(η5‐Cp)(η6‐pyrene)][PF6]. 1‐methylnaphthalene and 2,3‐dimethylnaphthalene afforded mixtures of regioisomeric complexes. [Ru(Cp)(CH3CN)3][PF6], derived from the naphthalene precursor provided access to the cationic RuCp complexes of naphthoquinone, tetralindione, 1,4‐dihydroxynaphthalene, and 1,4‐dimethoxynaphthalene. Reduction of the tetralindione complex afforded selectively the endo, endo diol derivative. X‐Ray structures of five complexes are reported.  相似文献

The reaction of [RhCl(η4‐Ph2R2C4CO)]2 (R=Ph, 2‐naphthyl) with the dimeric complexes [RuCl2(p‐cymene)]2 p‐cymene=1‐methyl‐4‐(1‐methylethyl)benzene, [RuCl2(1,3,5‐Et3C6H3)]2, [MCl2(Cp*)]2 (M=Rh, Ir; Cp*=1,2,3,4,5‐pentamethylcyclopenta‐2,4‐dien‐1‐yl), [RuCl2(CO)3]2, [RuCl2(dcypb)(CO)]2 (dcypb=butane‐1,4‐diylbis[dicyclohexylphosphine]), [(dppb)ClRu(μ‐Cl)2(μ‐OH2)RuCl(dppb)] (dppb=butane‐1,4‐diylbis[diphenylphosphine]), and [(dcypb)(N2)Ru(μ‐Cl)3RuCl(dcypb)] was investigated. Olefin polymerizations catalyzed by Cp′TiCl2(O‐2,6‐iPr2C6H3) ( 1 – 5 ; Cp′ = cyclopentadienyl group), RuCl2(ethylene)(pybox) { 7 ; pybox = 2,6‐bis[(4S)‐4‐isopropyl‐2‐oxazolin‐2‐yl]pyridine}, and FeCl2(pybox) ( 8 ) were investigated in the presence of a cocatalyst. The Cp*TiCl2(O‐2,6‐iPr2C6H3) ( 5 )–methylaluminoxane (MAO) catalyst exhibited remarkable catalytic activity for both ethylene and 1‐hexene polymerizations, and the effect of the substituents on the cyclopentadienyl group was an important factor for the catalytic activity. A high level of 1‐hexene incorporation and a lower rE · rH value with 5 than with [Me2Si(C5Me4)(NtBu)]TiCl2 ( 6 ) were obtained, despite the rather wide bond angle of Cp Ti O (120.5°) of 5 compared with the bond angle of Cp Ti N of 6 (107.6°). The 7 –MAO catalyst exhibited moderate catalytic activity for ethylene homopolymerization and ethylene/1‐hexene copolymerization, and the resultant copolymer incorporated 1‐hexene. The 8 –MAO catalyst also exhibited activity for ethylene polymerization, and an attempted ethylene/1‐hexene copolymerization gave linear polyethylene. The efficient polymerization of a norbornene macromonomer bearing a ring‐opened poly(norbornene) substituent was accomplished by ringopening metathesis polymerization with the well‐defined Mo(CHCMe2Ph)(N‐2,6‐iPr2C6H3)[OCMe(CF3)2]2 ( 10 ). The key step for the macromonomer synthesis was the exclusive end‐capping of the ring‐opened poly(norbornene) with p‐Me3SiOC6H4CHO, and the use of 10 was effective for this polymerization proceeding with complete conversion. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Complexes of Titanium — Synthesis, Structure, and Fluxional Behaviour of CpTi{η6‐C5H4=C(p‐Tol)2}Cl (Cp′ = Cp*, Cp) The reaction of Cp′TiCl3 (C′ = Cp* or Cp) with magnesium and 6, 6‐di‐para‐tolylpentafulvene generates good yields of pentafulvene complexes Cp*Ti{η6‐C5H4=C(p‐Tol)2}Cl ( 4 ) and CpTi{η6‐C5H4=C(p‐Tol)2}Cl ( 5 ), respectively. The crystal and molecular structure of 4 have been determined from X‐ray data and exhibits compared to known η6‐pentafulvene complexes an unusual large Ti—C(p‐Tol)2 (Fv)‐distance (2.535(5)Å) evoked by the bulky substituents at the exocyclic carbon. Dynamic 1H‐NMR and spin saturation transfer experiments point out a rotation of the fulvene ligand around the Ti—Ct2 axis (Ct2 = centroid of the fulvene ring carbon atoms) with an activation barrier ΔGC = 60.6 ± 0.5 kJ mol−1 (TC = 314 ± 2 K). For 5 this barrier is significantly larger. Analogous dynamic behaviour is well known for diene complexes, but to our knowledge, it is here first‐time described for a pentafulvene complex.  相似文献

6‐Benzimidazolylpyridyl‐2‐carboximidic half‐titanocene complexes, Cp′TiLCl (Cp′ = C5H5, MeC5H4, C5Me5, L = 6‐benzimidazolylpyridine‐2‐carboxylimidic, C1–C13 ), were synthesized and characterized along with single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The half‐titanocene chlorides containing substituted cyclopentadienyl groups, especially pentamethylcyclopentadienyl groups were more stable, while those without substituents on the cyclopentadienyl groups were easily transformed into their dimeric oxo‐bridged complexes, (CpTiL)2O ( C14 and C15 ). In the presence of excessive amounts of methylaluminoxane (MAO) or modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO), all half‐titanocene complexes showed high catalytic activities for ethylene polymerization. The substituents on the Cp groups affected the catalytic behaviors of the complexes significantly, with less substituents favoring increased activities and higher molecular weights of the resultant polyethylenes. Effects of reaction conditions on catalytic behaviors were systematically investigated with catalytic systems of mononuclear C1 and dimeric C14 . With C1 /MAO, large MAO amount significantly increases the catalytic activity, while the temperature only has a slight effect on the productivity. In the case of C14 /MAO catalytic system, temperature above 60 °C and Al/Ti value higher than 5000 were necessary to observe good catalytic activities. In both systems, higher reaction temperature and low cocatalyst amount gave the polyethylenes with higher molecular weights. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
