An ordinary tetrahedron group is a group with a presentati on of the form

These groups appear in many contexts, not least as subgroups of generalized triangle groups.In this paper, we build on previous work to start on a complete classification as to which generalized tetrahedron groups are finite; here we treat the case where at least one of the f i is greater than three.  相似文献

The number N of rational points on an algebraic curve of genus g over a finite field satisfies the Hasse–Weil bound . A curve that attains this bound is called maximal. With and , it is known that maximalcurves have . Maximal curves with have been characterized up to isomorphism. A natural genus to be studied is and for this genus there are two non-isomorphic maximal curves known when . Let be a reductive Lie algebra over C. We say that a -module M is a generalized Harish-Chandra module if, for some subalgebra , M is locally -finite and has finite -multiplicities. We believe that the problem of classifying all irreducible generalized Harish-Chandra modules could be tractable. In this paper, we review the recent success with the case when is a Cartan subalgebra. We also review the recent determination of which reductive in subalgebras are essential to a classification. Finally, we present in detail the emerging picture for the case when is a principal 3-dimensional subalgebra.  相似文献

A renormalization group transformation R 1 has a single stable point in the space of the analytic circle homeomorphisms with a single cubic critical point and with the rotation number (the golden mean). This paper is strictly related to Ref. 1. A pursuit-evasion game described in part by the system and is considered. We prove by elementary means a regularity theorem for quasi-isometries of T x n (where T denotes an infinite tree), and of many other metric spaces with similar combinatorial properties, e.g. Cayley graphs of Baumslag–Solitar groups. For quasi-isometries of T x n, it states that the image of {x} x n (xT) is uniformly close to {y} x n for some yT, and there is a well-defined surjection . Hecke groups H(q) are the discrete subgroups of generated by S(z) = –(z+ q)–1and T(z) = –1/z. The commutator subgroup of H(q), denoted by H(q), is studied in [2]. It was shown that H(q) is a free group of rank q– 1.Here the extended Hecke groups obtained by adjoining to the generators of H(q) are considered. The commutator subgroup of is shown to be a free product of two finite cyclic groups. Also it is interesting to note that while in the H(q) case, the index of H(q) is changed by q, in the case of this number is either 4 for qodd or 8 for qeven.  相似文献

We study into the question of whether some rings and their associated matrix rings have equal decidability boundaries in the scheme and scheme-alternative hierarchies. Let be a decidability boundary for an algebraic system A; w.r.t. the hierarchy H. For a ring R, denote by an algebra with universe . On this algebra, define the operations + and in such a way as to extend, if necessary, the initial matrices by suitably many zero rows and columns added to the underside and to the right of each matrix, followed by ordinary addition and multiplication of the matrices obtained. The main results are collected in Theorems 1-3. Theorem 1 holds that if R is a division or an integral ring, and R has zero or odd characteristic, then the equalities hold for any n1. And if R is an arbitrary associative ring with identity then for any n 1 and i,j { 1,..., n}, where e ij is a matrix identity. For a bounded regular Jordan domain in R 2, we introduce and study a new class of functions K() related on its Green function G. We exploit the properties of this class to prove the existence and the uniqueness of a positive solution for the singular nonlinear elliptic equation u+(x,u)=0, in D(), with u=0 on and uC(), where is a nonnegative Borel measurable function in ×(0,) that belongs to a convex cone which contains, in particular, all functions (x,t)=q(x)t ,>0 with nonnegative functions qK().
