Conditions are specified which are necessary and sufficient for a logic over K4 to possess the weak interpolation property. For this goal to be met, simple transitive modal algebras are described, and we establish a criterion for the class of such algebras to be amalgamable. For extensions of K4, the weak interpolation property is proved decidable. We study some properties of the varieties of deformations of free groups in compact Lie groups. In particular, we prove a conjecture of Margulis and Soifer about the density of non-virtually free points in such variety, and a conjecture of Goldman on the ergodicity of the action of Aut(F n ) on such variety when n ≥ 3.  Let ℋ be the Hecke algebra associated with a Coxeter group W. Many interesting ℋ-modules can be described using the concept of a W-graph, as introduced in the influential paper [4] of Kazhdan and Lusztig. In particular, Kazhdan and Lusztig showed that the regular representation of ℋ has an associated W-graph. The purpose of this note is to show that if W J is a parabolic subgroup of W and V is a module for the corresponding Hecke algebra ℋ J , then a W J -graph structure for V gives rise to a W-graph structure for the induced module ℋ⊗ ℋJ V. In the case that W J is the identity subgroup and V has dimension 1, our construction coincides with that given by Kazhdan and Lusztig for the regular representation. For arbitrary J and V of dimension 1 we recover the constructions of Couillens [1] and Deodhar [3].  Let Γ be the fundamental group of the complement of a K(Γ, 1) hyperplane arrangement (such as Artin's pure braid group) or more generally a homologically toroidal group as defined below. The triviality of bundles arising from orthogonal representations of Γ is characterized completely as follows. An orthogonal representation gives rise to a trivial bundle if and only if the representation factors through the spinor groups. Furthermore, the subgroup of elements in the complex K-theory of BΓ which arises from complex unitary representations of Γ is shown to be trivial. In the case of real K-theory, the subgroup of elements which arises from real orthogonal representations of Γ is an elementary abelian 2-group, which is characterized completely in terms of the first two Stiefel-Whitney classes of the representation. In addition, quadratic relations in the cohomology algebra of the pure braid groups which correspond precisely to the Jacobi identity for certain choices of Poisson algebras are shown to give the existence of certain homomorphisms from the pure braid group to generalized Heisenberg groups. These cohomology relations correspond to non-trivial Spin representations of the pure braid groups which give rise to trivial bundles. We describe a fairly general procedure for preserving I3 embeddings j: V λV λ via λ-stage reverse Easton iterated forcings. We use this method to prove that, assuming the consistency of an I3 embedding, V = HOD is consistent with the theory ZFC + WA where WA is an axiom schema in the language {∈, j} asserting a strong but not inconsistent form of “there is an elementary embedding VV”. This improves upon an earlier result in which consistency was established assuming an I1 embedding.   相似文献

Let G be a powerful finite p-group. In this note, we give a short elementary proof of the following facts for all i ≥ 0: (i) exp Ωi(G) ≤ p i for odd p, and expΩi(G) ≤ 2 i+1 for p = 2; (ii) the index |G: G p i| coincides with the number of elements of G of order at most p i. This paper is devoted to the introduction of a D -differential analog of the notion of an E -(co)algebra and to the construction of generalized Steenrod operations in terms of multiplicative spectral sequences. In this paper, we investigate basic homotopy properties of D -differential E -(co)algebras and construct a spectral sequence of a D -differential E -(co)algebra. __________ Translated from Sovremennaya Matematika i Ee Prilozheniya (Contemporary Mathematics and Its Applications), Vol. 43, Topology and Its Applications, 2006.  相似文献

<Emphasis Type="Italic">f</Emphasis>-Vectors of barycentric subdivisions   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
For a simplicial complex or more generally Boolean cell complex Δ we study the behavior of the f- and h-vector under barycentric subdivision. We show that if Δ has a non-negative h-vector then the h-polynomial of its barycentric subdivision has only simple and real zeros. As a consequence this implies a strong version of the Charney–Davis conjecture for spheres that are the subdivision of a Boolean cell complex or the subdivision of the boundary complex of a simple polytope. For a general (d − 1)-dimensional simplicial complex Δ the h-polynomial of its n-th iterated subdivision shows convergent behavior. More precisely, we show that among the zeros of this h-polynomial there is one converging to infinity and the other d − 1 converge to a set of d − 1 real numbers which only depends on d. F. We prove that if the existence of a supercompact cardinal is consistent with ZFC, then it is consistent with ZFC that the p-rank of Ext (G, ℤ) is as large as possible for every prime p and for any torsion-free Abelian group G. Moreover, given an uncountable strong limit cardinal μ of countable cofinality and a partition of Π (the set of primes) into two disjoint subsets Π0 and Π1, we show that in some model which is very close to ZFC, there is an almost free Abelian group G of size 2μ = μ+ such that the p-rank of Ext (G, ℤ) equals 2μ = μ+ for every p ∈ Π0 and 0 otherwise, that is, for p ∈ Π1. We consider the walled Brauer algebra Br k, l(n) introduced by V. Turaev and K. Koike. We prove that it is a subalgebra of the Brauer algebra and that it is isomorphic, for sufficiently large n ∈ ℕ, to the centralizer algebra of the diagonal action of the group GLn(ℂ) in a mixed tensor space. We also give the presentation of the algebra Br k, l(n) by generators and relations. For a generic value of the parameter, the algebra is semisimple, and in this case we describe the Bratteli diagram for this family of algebras and give realizations for the irreducible representations. We also give a new, more natural proof of the formulas for the characters of the walled Brauer algebras. It is proved that finite simple groups L4(2m), m ⩾ 2, and U4(2m), m ⩾ 2, are, up to isomorphism, recognized by spectra, i.e., sets of their element orders, in the class of finite groups. As a consequence the question on recognizability by spectrum is settled for all finite simple groups without elements of order 8. The main purpose of this paper is to provide some new criteria for a standard graded algebra A = ⊕ i≥0 A i to be a λ-Koszul algebra, which was first introduced in [12] and was another class of “Koszul-type” algebras including Koszul and d-Koszul algebras as special examples.  相似文献

n×m-valued Łukasiewicz algebras with negation were introduced and investigated in [20, 22, 23]. These algebras constitute a non trivial generalization of n-valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras and in what follows, we shall call them n×m-valued Łukasiewicz-Moisil algebras (or LM n×m -algebras). In this paper, the study of this new class of algebras is continued. More precisely, a topological duality for these algebras is described and a characterization of LM n×m -congruences in terms of special subsets of the associated space is shown. Besides, it is determined which of these subsets correspond to principal congruences. In addition, it is proved that the variety of LM n×m -algebras is a discriminator variety and as a consequence, certain properties of the congruences are obtained. Finally, the number of congruences of a finite LM n×m -algebra is computed.   相似文献

We prove that the stable homotopy of any Γ-module F is the homology of a bicomplex Ξ(F), in which the (q−1)st row is the two-sided bar construction ℬ(Lie* q q ,F[q]). This gives a natural homotopical cotangent bicomplex for graded commutative algebras, in a form suitable for use in a new obstruction theory for classifying E ring structures on spectra. The E structure on certain Lubin-Tate spectra is a corollary. Oblatum 15-X-2001 & 14-X-2002?Published online: 24 February 2003  相似文献

For every positive integer d we define the q-analog of multiple zeta function of depth d and study its properties, generalizing the work of Kaneko et al. who dealt with the case d=1. We first analytically continue it to a meromorphic function on ℂ d with explicit poles. In our Main Theorem we show that its limit when q 1 is the ordinary multiple zeta function. Then we consider some special values of these functions when d=2. At the end of the paper we also propose the q-analogs of multiple polylogarithms by using Jackson’s q-iterated integrals and then study some of their properties. Our definition is motivated by those of Koornwinder and Schlesinger although theirs are slightly different from ours. Partially supported by NSF grant DMS0139813 and DMS0348258.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. We define the prime graph Γ(G) as follows. The vertices of Γ(G) are the primes dividing the order of G and two distinct vertices p, q are joined by an edge if there is an element in G of order pq. Recently M. Hagie [5] determined finite groups G satisfying Γ(G) = Γ(S), where S is a sporadic simple group. Let p > 3 be a prime number. In this paper we determine finite groups G such that Γ(G) = Γ(PSL(2, p)). As a consequence of our results we prove that if p > 11 is a prime number and p ≢ 1 (mod 12), then PSL(2, p) is uniquely determined by its prime graph and so these groups are characterizable by their prime graph. We show a relation between systems of integrable tops on the algebras sl(N, ) and Calogero-Moser systems of N particles. We construct classical Lax operators corresponding to these systems. We show that these operators are related to certain new trigonometric and rational solutions of the Yang-Baxter equations for the algebras sl(N, ) and give explicit formulas for N = 2, 3. __________ Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 158, No. 3, pp. 355–369, March, 2009.  相似文献
