Distribution ratios of europium(III), thorium(IV), uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) ions on Amberlyst A-15, a macroreticular polystyrene sulfonate resin, after extraction in HTTA-TBP-Shell Sol-T and HTTA-TOPO-benzene solutions have been determined as a function of the aqueous acidity. The affinity orders were EuPu>Th>U and Eu>Th>Pu>U in the former and the latter solutions, respectively. Separation factors were computed from the observed Kd values. A procedure for the separation of a mixture of Eu(III), Th(IV), and U(VI) ions in HTTA-TOPO-benzene solution in an ion-exchange column is described.  相似文献

Ion exchange studies of uranium(VI), thorium(IV), plutonium(IV) and europium(III) ions on a macroreticular cation exchange resin, Amberlyst A-15, from solutions of 30% and 5% TBP—Shell Sol-T have been carried out. The metal ions were extracted into TBP Shell Sol-T phase from 8M NH4NO3 at different nitric acid concentrations. Ion exchange distribution ratios as a function of organic phase acidity of 30% and 5% TBP have been computed. Separation factors computed from the observed Kd values are plotted as a function of organic phase acidity.  相似文献

The liquid-liquid extraction behavior of plutonium(IV) from aqueous nitric acid media into n-dodecane by di(2-ethylhexyl)sulfoxide (DEHSO) was investigated over a wide range of conditions. Optimum-parameters such as the aqueous phase acidity, reagent and metal concentrations, etc., were established for efficient extraction-separation of tracer as well as macro levels of plutonium. It was found that the extraction increased with increasing nitric acid concentration up to 6M HNO3 and then decreased. Extraction also increased with increasing extractant concentration. After loading of the organic phase with 2 to 50 mg/ml of U(VI), extractability of Pu(IV) became considerably lower. Recovery of Pu(IV) from the organic phase was accomplished using dilute uranium(IV) nitrate as the strippant.  相似文献

A rapid extractive photometric method using Aliquat-336 and xylenol organe for the determination of plutonium(IV) at μg levels has been developed. Quantitative extraction is obtained from ∼4M aqueous HNO3 medium, affording estimation in the presence of several commonly occurring impurities, viz. iron, uranium, fission products and cladding materials. Effects of acidity, reagent concentration and diverse ions on the estimation have also been invetigated. Unlike the well-known absorptiometric method for determining plutonium(IV) employing Arsenazo III, the procedure presented here tolerates manyfold excesses of uranium(VI) as well as chromium(III), iron(III) and zirconium(IV), which are some of the major contaminants of plutonium during reprocessing.  相似文献

The influence of ethanol on the distribution of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) between solutions of nitric acid and solutions of Amberlite LA-2, Trilaurylamine and Aliquat 336-nitrate has been investigated. Increasing amounts of nitric acid and ethanol in the aqueous phase cause an increase of the acid concentration in the organic phase. This concentration can be calculated by a given formula for Amberlite LA-2. The distribution of acid and ethanol is discussed. The distribution ratios of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) are changed by adding ethanol to the liquid-liquid-system. This can be explained by the shift of the equilibrium of the metal nitrate complexes and by the enhanced extraction of acid.   相似文献

Many advanced reprocessing schemes under development are aimed at co-processing and co-conversion of actinides, unlike current reprocessing plants that produce separate uranium and plutonium products. The most well developed option for the co-conversion stage is probably oxalate co-precipitation, followed by the thermal co-conversion to a mixed oxide product. It is thus envisaged that future processes will avoid separation of plutonium from uranium and instead allow part of the uranium to flow with the plutonium, resulting in co-precipitation as the oxalate, and finally co-conversion to a mixed uranium-plutonium oxide (MOX), which can be fabricated into recycled nuclear fuel for further energy generation. The co-crystallisation of uranium (IV) and plutonium (III) into a single oxalate structure ensures the homogenous distribution of the two actinides at the molecular scale. The joint conversion of uranium and plutonium to the oxide form makes it possible to remove the complicated step of blending and grinding the two distinct oxide powders, as currently employed for the purposes of MOX fuel fabrication. This concept can also be extended to other actinides, including minor actinides from partitioning processes such as SANEX (Selective Actinide Extraction) and GANEX (Grouped Actinide Extraction) processes or even a thorium containing product from recycle of thorium based fuels.A selection of UxTh1-x(C2O4)2 solids at varying concentrations of uranium and thorium were prepared by oxalate co-precipitation. Uranium (VI) was conditioned electrochemically at -0.7 V to uranium (IV), in the presence of hydrazine. The reduced uranium (IV) in nitric acid was mixed with thorium nitrate solutions at different concentration ratios with oxalic acid. The mixed tetravalent uranium-thorium oxalate solid products have been characterised by Raman and IR spectroscopies. The influence of thorium substituted into the uranium oxalate structure was evaluated. Several vibrational modes were found to be affected by the variation in ionic radius appearing to be metal sensitive and therefore, provide the initial indication in the evaluation of the chemical composition.  相似文献

A solvent extraction process is proposed to recover uranium and thorium from the crystal waste solutions of zirconium oxychloride. The extraction of iron from hydrochloride medium with P350, the extraction of uranium from hydrochloride with N235, and the extraction of thorium from the mixture solutions of nitric acid and the hydrochloric acid with P350 was investigated. The optimum extraction conditions were evaluated with synthetic solutions by studying the parameters of extractant concentration and acidity. The optimum separation conditions for Fe (III) are recognized as 30% P350 and 4.5 to 6.0 M HCl. The optimum extraction conditions for U (VI) are recognized as 25% N235 and 4.5 to 6.0 M HCl. And the optimum extraction conditions for Th (VI) are recognized as 30% P350 and 2.5 to 3.5 M HNO3 in the mixture solutions. The recovery of uranium and thorium from the crystal waste solutions of zirconium oxychloride was investigated also. The results indicate that the recoveries of uranium and thorium are 92 and 86%, respectively.  相似文献

Liquid-liquid extraction of uranium (VI) from aqueous phosphoric acid solution by triisodecylamine (Alamine 310), tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP), di-n-pentyl sulfoxide (DPSO) and their mixtures in benzene in the range 1–10M aqueous H3PO4 shows that extraction is maximum (80%) in the higher acidity range 6–8 M. Extraction of this metal ion by bis(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)phosphinicacid (Cyanex 301) and its mixtures studied in the range 0.2–1.0M aqueous H3PO4 is far from being quantitative. Antagonism in extraction by mixtures of extractants is observed in most of the cases. Extraction of molybdenum(VI) under identical conditions shows that it is quantitative in the lower acidity range upto 2M H3PO4. Separation of uranium(VI) from molybdenum(VI) is feasible by Alamine 310, TBP and DPSO, the order of efficiency being TBP>DPSO>Alamine 310.  相似文献

Extraction of uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) with some aliphatic amides   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Extraction of uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) has been studied with N,N-dibutyl derivatives of hexanamide (DBHA), octanamide (DBOA) and decanamide (DBDA) at various fixed temperatures of 20, 30, 40 and (50±0.1)°C. The equilibrium constants for the uptake of nitric acid (Kh, a measure of their relative basicities) by these amides were evaluated by the usual method. The equilibrium constants for the extraction of uranium as well as plutonium with all the three amides follow their order of basicity (Kh) viz. DBHA (0.09)<DBOA (0.10)<DBDA (0.13) with log K values of 1.31, 1.43 and 1.73 for uranium and 3.55, 3.65 and 4.17 for plutonium, respectively. It has been observed that whereas uranium(VI) is extracted as a disolvate (similar to TBP and sulfoxides), plutonium(IV) has been found to be extracted as a trisolvate. The thermodynamic parameters evaluated by the usual temperature coefficient method indicate that the extraction reactions of uranium as well as plutonium are stabilized by negative enthalpy change only.  相似文献

The solvent extraction of several lanthanide radionuclides (144Ce,147Nd,154Eu,170Tm and169Yb from aqueous picric acid solutions with (4-methylbenzo-15-crown-5) in chloroform has been investigated. The extracted species are found to be 1∶2∶3 (metal/crown/ picrate) complexes from slope analysis. The extraction equilibrium constants (Kex) have been determined at 25 °C. The order of Kex values for trivalent lanthanides is Nd3+> >Eu3+>Ce3+>Tm3+>Yb3+. This suggests that the ionic size of Nd3+ (r=0.995 Å) may be nearer to the cavity size of (4-methylbenzo-15-crown-5) than the other lanthanides. The extraction of thorium(IV) and uranium(IV, VI) by some crown ethers from nitric, hydrochloric and picric acid solutins have been studied. In nitric acid media, thorium(IV) forms a 1∶2 complex with DC18C6 or DC24C8, resembling plutonium(IV) and neptunium(IV) (identification of these reagents is given in Table 1 and Fig. 1). In hydrochloric acid media, the extraction of uranium(IV, VI) leads to a large loading and may be suitable for practical application. The far infrared spectra of the extracted complex in 1,2-dichloroethane have been examined for the UO2Cl2?DCI8C6, UO2Cl2?DC24C8, Th(NO3)4?DC18C6 and Th (NO3)4?DC24C8 systems. The spectra show the existence of direct bonding between the extracted metal ion and the oxygen donor in the ring of these crown ethers.  相似文献

Two isomeric monoamides, dioctyl butyramide (DOBA) and dioctyl isobutyramide (DOIBA) were synthesized for extracting uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) from aqueous nitric acid medium into various diluents such asn-dodecane, tertiary butyl benzene and xylene. DOBA extracted uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) efficiently whereas DOIBA extracted uranium(VI) with negligible extraction for plutonium(IV). Both these cations were extracted as their disolvates. The thermodynamic parameters involved in the extraction determined by the temperature variation method indicated the reactions in all cases to be enthalpy favoured and entropy disfavoured. Possibility of separating micrograms of plutonium(IV) from macroquantities of uranium(VI) using the mixture of these amides was explored.  相似文献

The influence of methanol on the distribution of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) between aqueous solutions of nitric acid and solutions of Amberlite LA-2, trilaurylamine and Aliquat-336-nitrate has been investigated. The amount of acid in the organic phase increases with increasing concentration of nitric acid and methanol in the aqueous phase. The concentration of acid in the organic phase can be calculated by a given formula for Amberlite LA-2. The distribution of methanol is discussed. The distribution of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) changes, when methanol is added. This is explained by the shift of the equilibrium of the metal complex and by the enhanced extraction of acid.  相似文献

Solvent extractions of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) by a commercially available chelating extractant LIX-26 (an alkylated 8-hydroxyquinoline) or 8-hydroxyquinoline, benzoic or salicylic acid, dipentyl sulphoxide (DPSO) and their mixtures with butanol as modifier in benzene/methylisobutyl ketone (MIBK) as the diluent have been studied. Extraction of uranium(VI) by 10% LIX-26 and 10% butanol in benzene becomes quantitative at pH 5.0. The pH 0.5 values for the extraction of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) are 4.95 and 3.35, respectively. Quantitative extraction of thorium(IV) by the mixture of 0.1 M oxine and 0.1 M salicylic acid in methylisobutyl ketone was observed at pH 5.0. The influence of concentration of various anions on the extraction of Th4+ by mixtures of LIX-26 and benzoic acid has been studied. Studies on extraction of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) by mixtures of LIX-26 (HQ) and DPSO show that the extracted species are possibly of the type [ThQ2/DPSO/2/SCN/2] and [UO2Q2/DPSO/], respectively.  相似文献

The extraction of plutonium(VI) and plutonium(III) from sulphuric acid by TOA in toluene has been studied as a function of the acid and tri-octyl amine concentration. A comparison of the extraction properties of plutonium with those of uranium(VI) and uranium(IV) has been made. It was found that the extraction properties of plutonium(VI) are very similar to those of uranium(VI) and that TOA is a relatively poor extractant for plutonium(III). Uranium(IV) shows better extraction properties than plutonium(III). The results obtained are considered in the light of the stabilities of the complexes formed by these elements in the organic and aqueous phase. A method of separation of both elements by solvent extraction based on changing their oxidation states is suggested.  相似文献

Solvent extraction with hydroxamic acids has been investigated. with comparison of aliphatic and aromatic reagents for the extraction of iron, copper, cobalt and nickel. Caprylohydroxamic acid has been evaluated for use in extraction systems for titanium, vanadium, chromium, molybdenum and uranium, both in terms of acidity of aqueous phase and oxidation state of the metal. It has been established that caprylohydroxamic acid in 1-hexanol is a suitable extractant for the removal of titanium(IV), vanadium(V), chromium(VI), molybdenum(VI) and uranium(VI) from 6M hydrochloric acid.  相似文献

Extraction of uranium(VI), thorium(IV) from nitric acid has been studied with N-octylcaprolactam and N-(2-ethyl)hexylcaprolactam. Distribution coefficients of U(VI), Th(IV) and HNO3 as a function of aqueous NHO3 concentration, extractant concentration and temperature have been studied. The compositions of extracted species, thermodynamic parameters of extraction have been evaluated. Third phase formation in extraction of U(VI) has been studied. Back extraction behavior of U(VI) and Th(IV) from the organic phase has also been tested. The results obtained are compared with those obtained by using TBP under the same experimental conditions.  相似文献

In this study, the effects of various extraction parameters such as extractant types (Cyanex302, Cyanex272, TBP), acid type (nitric, sulfuric, hydrochloric) and their concentrations were studied on the thorium separation efficiency from uranium(VI), titanium(IV), lanthanum(III), iron(III) using Taguchi??s method. Results showed that, all these variables had significant effects on the selective thorium separation. The optimum separations of thorium from uranium, titanium and iron were achieved by Cyanex302. The aqueous solutions of 0.01 and 1 M nitric acid were found as the best aqueous conditions for separating of thorium from titanium (or iron) and uranium, respectively. The combination of 0.01 M nitric acid and Cyanex272 were found that to be the optimum conditions for the selective separation of thorium from lanthanum. The results also showed that TBP could selectively extract all studied elements into organic phase leaving thorium behind in the aqueous phase. Detailed experiments showed that 0.5 M HNO3 is the optimum acid concentration for separating of thorium from other elements with acidic extractants such as Cyanex272 and Cyanex302. The two-stage process containing TBP-Cyanex302 was proposed for separation thorium and uranium from Zarigan ore leachate.  相似文献

The extraction behavior of uranium(VI), plutonium(IV) and fission products like zirconium, ruthenium and europium from 3.5M nitric acid medium with gamma-irradiated dibutyl derivatives of hexanamide (DBHA), octanamide (DBOA) and decanamide (DBDA) in dodecane has been investigated as a function of absorbed dose up to 184 MRads. The results indicate that the Kd value for extraction of uranium(VI) decreases gradually, while Kd for extraction of plutonium(IV) decreases rapidly with dose up to 35 MRads, increasing thereafter with dose, indicating synergistic effects of radiolytic products at higher doses. Ruthenium and europium are not extracted in the entire dose range up to 184 MRads, while extraction of zirconium(IV) increases steadily up to 50 MRads and increases radiply thereafter, indicating synergistic effect of radiolytic products similar to that of plutonium(IV) beyond a dose of 50 MRads. The extractability of uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) with 1M dibutyl decanamide (DBDA) in dodecane was studied for uranium loading up to 75 mg/ml and plutonium loading up to 3 mg/ml. The percent extraction was found to vary from 91 to 71 for uranium and 95 to 89 for plutonium, respectively. Quantitative stripping of uranium can be achieved with 0.01M nitric acid and plutonium with 0.5M nitric acid and 0.05M hydroxylamine soluton in two steps from an organic phase loaded with 53.2 mg/ml of uranium.  相似文献

The extraction behavior of uranium(VI), plutonium(IV) and some fission products like zirconium(IV), ruthenium(III) and europium(III) from 3.5M nitric acid with -irradiated organic phase pre-equilibratedn-dodecane solutions of dihexyl derivatives of hexanamide (DHHA), octanamide (DHOA) and decanamide (DHDA) has been investigated as a function of absorbed dose upto 184·104 Gy. The results indicate that the extraction of uranium(VI) decreases gradually with dose upto 72·104 Gy and becomes almost constant thereafter, while, the extraction of plutonium(IV) decreases upto a dose of 20·104 Gy and then increases rapidly up to a dose of 82·104 Gy indicating synergistic effects of radiolytic products formed at higher doses. Extraction of zirconium(IV) increases gradually upto a dose of 72·104 Gy. Europium(III) does not get extracted with any of these amides in the entire dose range (0–184·104 Gy) studied, however, ruthenium shows insignificant increase in extraction with dose. The decrease inD values noticed in the case of plutonium and zirconium after the dose of 72·104 Gy which was attributed to the third phase formation and emulsification. Infrared studies confirm the final products of radiolysis as the respective amines and carboxylic acids. The degraded amide contents have been estimated by quantitative IR spectrophotometric technique. Extraction data obtained for uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) with TBP/n-dodecane system have also been compared under similar experimental conditions.  相似文献

The effect of complexants—acetic, aminoacetic, tartaric, malonic, and oxalic acids; EDTA; and Na2CO3—on the adsorption and subsequent determination of thorium(IV), lanthanum(III), uranium(VI), and zirconium(IV) with Arsenazo M in the solid phase of polyacrylonitrile fiber filled with an ANKB-50 anion exchanger was studied. Complexing agents were introduced into the solution at the step of metal ion adsorption. It was shown that zirconium and uranium interacted with the iminodiacetate groups of the adsorbent in the course of adsorption; the adsorption of elements from 10?3 to 10?2 M complexant solutions (except for tartaric and oxalic acids and EDTA) under the optimum conditions was enhanced as compared to their adsorption from pure solutions; complexation with Arsenazo M in the solid phase proceeded at a higher acidity than in the solution. When the elements were present simultaneously, their total concentration and individual thorium could be determined from malonic acid solutions with Arsenazo M by varying the concentration of acid and the adsorption pH.  相似文献
