The gas-phase reaction of ozone with eight alkenes including six 1,1-disubstituted alkenes has been investigated at ambient T (285–298 K) and p = 1 atm. of air. The reaction rate constants are, in units of 10−18 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, 9.50 ± 1.23 for 3-methyl-1-butane, 13.1. ± 1.8 for 2-methyl-1-pentene, 11.3 ± 3.2 for 2-methyl-1,3-butadiene (isoprene), 7.75 ± 1.08 for 2,3,3-trimethyl-1-butene, 3.02 ± 0.52 for 3-methyl-2-isopropyl-1-butene, 3.98 ± 0.43 for 3,4-diethyl-2-hexene, 1.39 ± 17 for 2,4,4-trimethyl-2-pentene, and >370 for (cis + trans)-3,4-dimethyl-3-hexene. For isoprene, results from this study and earlier literature data are consistent with: k (cm3 molecule−1 s−1) = 5.59 (+ 3.51, &minus 2.16) × 10−15 e(−3606±279/RT), n = 28, and R = 0.930. The reactivity of the other alkenes, six of which have not been studied before, is discussed in terms of alkyl substituent inductive and steric effects. For alkenes (except 1,1-disubstituted alkenes) that bear H, CH3, and C2H5 substituents, reactivity towards ozone is related to the alkene ionization potential: In k<(10−18 cm3 molecule−1 s−1) = (32.89 ± 1.84) − (3.09 ± 0.20) IP (eV), n = 12, and R = 0.979. This relationship overpredicts the reactivity of C≥3 1-alkenes, of 1,1-disubstituted alkenes, and of alkenes with bulky substituents, for which reactivity towards ozone is lower due to substituent steric effects. The atmospheric persistence of the alkenes studied is briefly discussed. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

By conducting an excimer laser photolysis (193 and 248 nm) behind shock waves, three elementary reactions important in the oxidation of H2S have been examined, where, H, O, and S atoms have been monitored by the atomic resonance absorption spectrometry. For HS + O2 → products (1), the rate constants evaluated by numerical simulations are summarized as: k1 = 3.1 × 10−11exp|-75 kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 1400-1850 K) with an uncertainty factor of about 2. Direct measurements of the rate constants for S + O2 → SO + O (2), and SO + O2 → SO2 + O (3) yield k2 = (2.5 ± 0.6) × 10−11 exp|-(15.3 ± 2.5) kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 980-1610 K) and, k3 = (1.7 ± 0.9) × 10−12 exp|-(34 ± 11) kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 1130-1640 K), respectively. By summarizing these data together with the recent experimental results on the H(SINGLE BOND)S(SINGLE BOND)O reaction systems, a new kinetic model for the H2S oxidation process is constructed. It is found that this simple reaction scheme is consistent with the experimental result on the induction time of SO2 formation obtained by Bradley and Dobson. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A laser photolysis–long path laser absorption (LP‐LPLA) experiment has been used to determine the rate constants for H‐atom abstraction reactions of the dichloride radical anion (Cl2) in aqueous solution. From direct measurements of the decay of Cl2 in the presence of different reactants at pH = 4 and I = 0.1 M the following rate constants at T = 298 K were derived: methanol, (5.1 ± 0.3)·104 M−1 s−1; ethanol, (1.2 ± 0.2)·105 M−1 s−1; 1‐propanol, (1.01 ± 0.07)·105 M−1 s−1; 2‐propanol, (1.9 ± 0.3)·105 M−1 s−1; tert.‐butanol, (2.6 ± 0.5)·104 M−1 s−1; formaldehyde, (3.6 ± 0.5)·104 M−1 s−1; diethylether, (4.0 ± 0.2)·105 M−1 s−1; methyl‐tert.‐butylether, (7 ± 1)·104 M−1 s−1; tetrahydrofuran, (4.8 ± 0.6)·105 M−1 s−1; acetone, (1.41 ± 0.09)·103 M−1 s−1. For the reactions of Cl2 with formic acid and acetic acid rate constants of (8.0 ± 1.4)·104 M−1 s−1 (pH = 0, I = 1.1 M and T = 298 K) and (1.5 ± 0.8) · 103 M−1 s−1 (pH = 0.42, I = 0.48 M and T = 298 K), respectively, were derived. A correlation between the rate constants at T = 298 K for all oxygenated hydrocarbons and the bond dissociation energy (BDE) of the weakest C‐H‐bond of log k2nd = (32.9 ± 8.9) − (0.073 ± 0.022)·BDE/kJ mol−1 is derived. From temperature‐dependent measurements the following Arrhenius expressions were derived: k (Cl2 + HCOOH) = (2.00 ± 0.05)·1010·exp(−(4500 ± 200) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (37 ± 2) kJ mol−1 k (Cl2 + CH3COOH) = (2.7 ± 0.5)·1010·exp(−(4900 ± 1300) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (41 ± 11) kJ mol−1 k (Cl2 + CH3OH) = (5.1 ± 0.9)·1012·exp(−(5500 ± 1500) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (46 ± 13) kJ mol−1 k (Cl2 + CH2(OH)2) = (7.9 ± 0.7)·1010·exp(−(4400 ± 700) K/T) M−1 s−1, Ea = (36 ± 5) kJ mol−1 Finally, in measurements at different ionic strengths (I) a decrease of the rate constant with increasing I has been observed in the reactions of Cl2 with methanol and hydrated formaldehyde. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Two long-chain multidentate ligands: 2,9-di-(n-2',5',8'-triazanonyl)-1,10-phenanthroline (L^1) and 2,9-di- (n-4',7',10'-triazaundecyl)-1,10-phenanthroline (L^2) were synthesized. The hydrolytic kinetics of 2-hydroxypropyl p-nitrophenyl phosphate (HPNP) catalyzed by the complexes of L^1 or L^2 with La(Ⅲ) or Gd(Ⅲ) have been studied in aqueous solution at (298.2±0.1) K, I=0.10 mol·dm^-3 KNO3 in pH 7.5-9.1, respectively, finding that the catalytic effect of GdL^1 was the best among the four complexes for hydrolysis of HPNP. Its kLnLH-1, kLnLand pKa are 0.047 mol^-1·L·s^-1, 0.000074 mol^-1·L·s^-1 and 8.90, respectively. This paper expounded the studied result with the structure of the ligands and the properties of the metal ions, and deduced the catalysis mechanism.  相似文献

The polymerization reactivity of isobutylene/SnCl4 mixtures in the absence of polar solvent, was investigated in a temperature interval from −78 to 60 °C. The mixture is nonreactive below −20 °C but slow polymerization proceeds from −20 to 20 °C with the initial rate r0 of the order 10−5 mol · l−1 · s−1. The rate of the process increases with increasing temperature up to ∼10−2 mol · l−1 · s−1 at 60 °C. Logarithmic plots of r0 and n versus 1/T exhibit a break in the range from 20 to 35 °C. Activation energy is positive with values E = 21.7 ± 4.2 kJ/mol in the temperature interval from −20 to 35 °C and E = 159.5 ± 4.2 kJ/mol in the interval from 35 to 60 °C. The values of activation enthalpy difference of molecular weights in these temperature intervals are ΔHMn = −12.7 ± 4.2 kJ/mol and −38.3 ± 4.2 kJ/mol, respectively. The polymerization proceeds quantitatively, the molecular weights of products are relatively high, n = 1500–2500 at 35 °C and about 600 at 60 °C. It is assumed that initiation proceeds via [isobutylene · SnCl4] charge transfer complex which is thermally excited and gives isobutylene radical‐cations. Oxygen inhibits the polymerization from −20 to 20 °C. Possible role of traces of water at temperatures above 20 °C is discussed. It was verified by NMR analysis that only low molecular weight polyisobutylenes are formed with high contents of exo‐ terminal unsaturated structures. In addition to standard unsaturated groups, new structures were detected in the products. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 38: 1568–1579, 2000  相似文献

2‐Phenylethanol, racemic 1‐phenyl‐2‐propanol, and 2‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐2‐propanol have been pyrolyzed in a static system over the temperature range 449.3–490.6°C and pressure range 65–198 torr. The decomposition reactions of these alcohols in seasoned vessels are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow a first‐order rate law. The Arrhenius equations for the overall decomposition and partial rates of products formation were found as follows: for 2‐phenylethanol, overall rate log k1(s−1)=12.43−228.1 kJ mol−1 (2.303 RT)−1, toluene formation log k1(s−1)=12.97−249.2 kJ mol−1 (2.303 RT)−1, styrene formation log k1(s−1)=12.40−229.2 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1, ethylbenzene formation log k1(s−1)=12.96−253.2 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1; for 1‐phenyl‐2‐propanol, overall rate log k1(s−1)=13.03−233.5 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1, toluene formation log k1(s−1)=13.04−240.1 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1, unsaturated hydrocarbons+indene formation log k1(s−1)=12.19−224.3 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1; for 2‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐2‐propanol, overall rate log k1(s−1)=12.68−222.1 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1, toluene formation log k1(s−1)=12.65−222.9 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1, phenylpropenes formation log k1(s−1)=12.27−226.2 kJ mol−1(2.303 RT)−1. The overall decomposition rates of the 2‐hydroxyalkylbenzenes show a small but significant increase from primary to tertiary alcohol reactant. Two competitive eliminations are shown by each of the substrates: the dehydration process tends to decrease in relative importance from the primary to the tertiary alcohol substrate, while toluene formation increases. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Substitution reactions of a Cl ligand in [SnCl2(tpp)] (tpp=5,10,15,20‐tetraphenyl‐21H,23H‐porphinato(2−)) by five organic bases i.e., butylamine (BuNH2), sec‐butylamine (sBuNH2), tert‐butylamine (tBuNH2), dibutylamine (Bu2NH), and tributylamine (Bu3N), as entering nucleophile in dimethylformamide at I=0.1M (NaNO3) and 30–55° were studied. The second‐order rate constants for the substitution of a Cl ligand were found to be (36.86±1.14)⋅10−3, (32.91±0.79)⋅10−3, (22.21±0.58)⋅10−3, (19.09±0.66)⋅10−3, and (1.36±0.08)⋅10−3 M −1s−1 at 40° for BuNH2, tBuNH2, sBuNH2, Bu2NH, and Bu3N, respectively. In a temperature‐dependence study, the activation parameters ΔH and ΔS for the reaction of [SnCl2(tpp)] with the organic bases were determined as 38.61±4.79 kJ mol−1 and −150.40±15.46 J K−1mol−1 for BuNH2, 40.95±4.79 kJ mol−1 and −143.75±15.46 J K−1mol−1 for tBuNH2, 30.88±2.43 kJ mol−1 and −179.00±7.82 J K−1mol−1 for sBuNH2, 26.56±2.97 kJ mol−1 and −194.05±9.39 J K−1mol−1 for Bu2NH, and 39.37±2.25 kJ mol−1 and −174.68±7.07 J K−1 mol−1 for Bu3N. From the linear rate dependence on the concentration of the bases, the span of k2 values, and the large negative values of the activation entropy, an associative (A) mechanism is deduced for the ligand substitution.  相似文献

Laser flash photolysis coupled with resonance fluorescence detection of Br atoms was employed to investigate the temperature dependence of the reaction Br + neo‐C5H12 (1) between 688 and 775 K. The following Arrhenius preexponential factor and activation energy were determined (±1 σ): A1 = (6.89 ± 2.27) 1014 cm3 mol−1 s−1 and EA,1 = 57.61 ± 2.05 kJ mol1 The only other kinetic parameters reported for the reaction of Br atoms with neo‐C5H12 were obtained from competitive kinetic experiments relative to Br + C2H6. Comparison with our direct results is hampered by uncertainties in the kinetic data for the reference reaction that may need reinvestigation. The standard enthalpy of formation for the neo‐C5H11 radical was estimated to be 34.7 and 41.6 kJ mol−1, depending on the value of the activation energy assumed for the reverse reaction neo‐C5H11 + HBr (−1). © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The gas phase elimination kinetics of the title compound was studied over the temperature range of 260.1–315.0°C and pressure range of 20–70 Torr. This elimination, in seasoned static reaction system and in the presence of at least fourfold of the free radical inhibitor toluene, is homogeneous, unimolecular and follows a first‐order rate law. The reaction yielded mainly benzaldehyde, CO, and HBr, and small amounts of benzylbromide and CO2. The observed rate coefficients are expressed by the following Arrhenius equations: For benzaldehyde formation: log k1 (s−1) = (12.23 ± 0.26) − (164.9 ± 2.7) kJ mol−1 (2.303 RT)−1 For benzylbromide formation: log k1 (s−1) = (13.82 ± 0.50) − (192.8 ± 5.5) kJ mol−1 (2.303 RT)−1 The mechanisms are believed to proceed through a semi‐polar five‐membered cyclic transition state for the benzaldehyde formation, while a four‐centered cyclic transition state for benzylbromide formation. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The reaction of Cl atoms with a series of C2–C5 unsaturated hydrocarbons has been investigated at atmospheric pressure of 760 Torr over the temperature range 283–323 K in air and N2 diluents. The decay of the hydrocarbons was followed using a gas chromatograph with a flame ionization detector (GC‐FID), and the kinetic constants were determined using a relative rate technique with n‐hexane as a reference compound. The Cl atoms were generated by UV photolysis (λ ≥ 300 nm) of Cl2 molecules. The following absolute rate constants (in units of 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, with errors representing ±2σ) for the reaction at 295 ± 2 K have been derived from the relative rate constants combined to the value 34.5 × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 for the Cl + n‐hexane reaction: ethene (9.3 ± 0.6), propyne (22.1 ± 0.3), propene (27.6 ± 0.6), 1‐butene (35.2 ± 0.7), and 1‐pentene (48.3 ± 0.8). The temperature dependence of the reactions can be expressed as simple Arrhenius expressions (in units of 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1): kethene = (0.39 ± 0.22) × 10−11 exp{(226 ± 42)/T}, kpropyne = (4.1 ± 2.5) × 10−11 exp{(118 ± 45)/T}, kpropene = (1.6 ± 1.8) × 10−11 exp{(203 ± 79)/T}, k1‐butene = (1.1 ± 1.3) × 10−11 exp{(245 ± 90)/T}, and k1‐pentene = (4.0 ± 2.2) × 10−11 exp{(423 ± 68)/T}. The applicability of our results to tropospheric chemistry is discussed. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 32: 478–484, 2000  相似文献

The rate coefficients for the reactions of hydrogen atoms with n-C3H7Br, s-C3H7Br, n-C4H9Br, and s-C4H9Br were determined in a discharge flow-reactor at 298 K and a pressure of 4 mbar. Molecular-beam sampling and subsequent mass-spectrometric detection with electron-impact ionisation was used for the measurement of the bromo-hydrocarbon concentration. The rate coefficients obtained are (in 1010 cm3 mol−1 s−1): 2.3±1.2 for n-C3H7Br, 2.3±1.2 for s-C3H7Br, 2.4±1.2 for n-C4H9Br, and 2.8±1.4 for s-C4H9Br. The results are compared with predictions from bond-energy bond-order (BEBO) calculations, where a reasonable agreement is found. Furthermore, also by BEBO calculations, the relative importance of bromine abstraction as compared to hydrogen abstraction is estimated. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The data on temperature, solvent, and high hydrostatic pressure influence on the rate of the ene reactions of 4‐phenyl‐1,2,4‐triazoline‐3,5‐dione ( 1 ) with 2‐carene ( 2 ), and β‐pinene ( 4 ) have been obtained. Ene reactions 1 + 2 and 1 + 4 have high heat effects: ∆Hrn ( 1 + 2 ) −158.4, ∆Hrn( 1 + 4 ) −159.2 kJ mol−1, 25°C, 1,2‐dichloroethane. The comparison of the activation volume (∆V( 1 + 2 ) −29.9 cm3 mol−1, toluene; ∆V( 1 + 4 ) −36.0 cm3 mol−1, ethyl acetate) and reaction volume values (∆Vr‐n( 1 + 2 ) −24.0 cm3 mol−1, toluene; ∆Vr‐n( 1 + 4 ) −30.4 cm3 mol−1, ethyl acetate) reveals more compact cyclic transition states in comparison with the acyclic reaction products 3 and 5 . In the series of nine solvents, the reaction rate of 1+2 increases 260‐fold and 1+4 increases 200‐fold, respectively, but not due to the solvent polarity.  相似文献

Rate coefficients have been measured for the reactions of Cl atoms with methanol (k1) and acetaldehyde (k2) using both absolute (laser photolysis with resonance fluorescence) and relative rate methods at 295 ± 2 K. The measured rate coefficients were (units of 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1): absolute method, k1 = (5.1 ± 0.4), k2 = (7.3 ± 0.7); relative method k1 = (5.6 ± 0.6), k2 = (8.4 ± 1.0). Based on a critical evaluation of the literature data, the following rate coefficients are recommended: k1 = (5.4 ± 0.9) × 10−11 and k2 = (7.8 ± 1.3) × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 (95% confidence limits). The results significantly improve the confidence in the database for reactions of Cl atoms with these oxygenated organics. Rate coefficients were also measured for the reactions of Cl2 with CH2OH, k5 = (2.9 ± 0.6) × 10−11 and CH3CO, k6 = (4.3 ± 1.5) × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, by observing the regeneration of Cl atoms in the absence of O2. Based on these results and those from a previous relative rate study, the rate coefficient for CH3CO + O2 at the high pressure limit is estimated to be (5.7 ± 1.9) × 10−12 cm3 molecule−1 s−1. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Long-path FTIR spectroscopy was used to study the kinetics and mechanism of the reaction of Cl atoms with CO in air. The relative rate constants at 298 K and 760 torr for the forward direction of the reaction of Cl with 13CO and the reaction of Cl13CO with O2 were k1 = (3.4 ± 0.8) × 10−14 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 and k2 = (4.3 ± 3.2) × 10−13 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, respectively (all uncertainty limits are 2σ). The rate constant for the net loss of 13CO due to reaction with Cl in 1 atm of air at 298 K was kCl+COobs = (3.0 ± 0.6) × 10−14 cm3 molecule−1 s−1. The only observed carbon-containing product of the Cl + 12CO reaction was 12CO2, with a yield of 109 ± 18%. Our results are in good agreement with extrapolations from previous studies. The reaction mechanism and the implications for laboratory studies and tropospheric chemistry are discussed. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The thf adduct of FeCl2, FeCl2(thf)1.5, reacts with bidentate aliphatic nitrogen bases in toluene as medium to give the corresponding adducts of FeCl2. X-ray crystallography of Fe(dienMe)Cl2 (dienMe = bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl)methylamine) has shown the compound to be mononuclear with pentacoordinated iron, thus confirming an earlier suggestion by Ciampolini and Speroni based on spectroscopic and magnetic data. Crystal data: C9H23Cl2FeN3; M = 300.06 g·mol−1; monoclinic; space group P21/c (No. 14); a = 8.396(3); b = 29.556(8); c = 12.108(3) Å; β = 101.22(4)°; V = 2947(3) Å3; Z = 8; dcalc = 1.352 g·cm−3; λAg−Kα = 0.56087 Å; μ = 7.02 cm−1; F(000) = 1264; T = 293 K. Bromo- and iodo complexes of iron (II) have been prepared by using cis-FeX2(CO)4 (X = Br, I) as precursors. The reaction of cis-Fe(CO)4X2 (X = Br, I) with N,N′-dimethyl-ethylenediamine (dmeda) or N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine (tmeda) in heptane as medium affords adducts of general formula Fe(NN)nX2 − X = Br, I; NN = dmeda, n = 2, NN = tmeda, n = 1. The iodo derivative Fe(tmeda)I2 has been characterized by X-ray crystallography and found to be mononuclear with tetracoordinated iron (II) in a distorted tetrahedral arrangement of two iodo- and two nitrogen atoms of the bidentate amine. In each polymerization initiated with DMPLi/LiCl at the various temperatures ranging from −40 to −60 °C, the linear relationship between polymerization time and conversion of monomer was obtained from the GLC analysis. The rate constant and the activation energy of the anionic polymerization for 1 were determined as follows: ln k = −5.85 × 103/T + 23.3 L mol−1 s−1 and 49 ± 4 kJ mol−1, respectively. Poly( 1 ) showed the glass transition temperature at 98 °C, and gave the insoluble product at higher temperature around 150 °C through the thermal cross-linking of highly strained N-acyl-aziridine moiety.  相似文献

The reaction of (diaqua)(N,N′‐ethylene‐bis(salicylidiniminato)manganese(III) with aqueous sulphite buffer results in the formation of the corresponding mono sulphito complex, [Mn(Salen)(SO3)] (S‐bonded isomer) via three distinct paths: (i) Mn(Salen)(OH2)2+ + HSO3 → (k1); (ii) Mn(Salen)(OH2)2+ + SO32− → (k2); (III) Mn(Salen)(OH2)(OH) + SO32− → (k3) in the stopped flow time scale. The fact that the mono sulphito complex does not undergo further anation with SO32−/HSO3 may be attributed to the strong trans‐activating influence of the S‐bonded sulphite. The values of the rate constants (10−2ki/dm2 mol−1 s−1 at 25°C, I = 0.3 mol dm−3), ΔHi#/kJ mol−1 and ΔSi#/J K−1 mol−1 respectively are: 2.97 ± 0.27, 42.4 ± 0.2, −55.3 ± 0.6 (i = 1); 11.0 ± 0.8, 33 ± 3, −75 ± 10 (i = 2); 20.6 ± 1.9, 32.4 ± 0.2, −72.9 ± 0.6 (i = 3). The trend in reactivity (k2 > k1), a small labilizing effect of the coordinated hydroxo group (k3/k2 < 2), and substantially low values of ΔS# suggest that the mechanism of aqua ligand substitution of the diaqua, and aqua‐hydroxo complexes is most likely associative interchange (Ia). No evidence for the formation of the O‐bonded sulphito complex and the ligand isomerization in the sulphito complex, (MnIII‐OSO2 → MnIII‐SO3), ensures the selectivity of the MnIII centre toward the S‐end of the SIV species. The monosulphito complex further undergoes slow redox reaction in the presence of excess sulphite to produce MnII, S2O62− and SO42−. The formation of dithionate is a consequence of the fast dimerization of the SO3−. generated in the rate determining step and also SO42− formation is attributed to the fast scavenging of the SO3−. by the MnIII species via a redox path. The internal reduction of the MnIII centre in the monosulphito complex is insignificant. The redox reaction of the monosulphitomanganese(III) complex operates via two major paths, one involving HSO3− and the other SO32−. The electron transfer is believed to be outersphere type. The substantially negative values of activation entropies (ΔS# = −(1.3 ± 0.2) × 102 and −(1.6 ± 0.2) × 102 J K−1 mol−1 for the paths involving HSO3− and SO32− respectively) reflect a considerable degree of ordering of the reactants in the act of electron transfer. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The chlorine transfer reaction between 3-azabicyclo[3,3,0]octane “AZA” and chloramine was studied over pH 8–13 in order to follow both the amination and halogenation properties of NH2Cl. The results show the existence of two competitive reactions which lead to the simultaneous formation of N-amino- and N-chloro- 3-azabicyclo[3,3,0]octane by bimolecular kinetics. The halogenation reaction is reversible and the chlorine derivative obtained, which is thermolabile and unstable in the pure state, was identified by electrospray mass spectrometry. These phenomena were quantified by a reaction between neutral species according to an apparent SN2-type mechanism for the amination process and a ionic mechanism involving a reaction between chloramine and protonated amine for the halogenation process. Amination occurs only in strongly basic solutions (pH ≥ 13) while chlorination occurs at lower pH's (pH ≤ 8). At intermediate pH's, a mixture of these two compounds is obtained. The relative proportions of the products are a function of intrinsic rate constants, pH and pKa of the reactants. The rate constants and thermodynamic activation parameters are the following: k1 = 45.5 × 10−3 M−1 s−1; ΔH10# = 59.8 kJ mol−1; ΔS10# = − 86.5 J mol−1 K−1 for amination; k2 = 114 × 10−3 M−1 s−1; ΔH20# = 63.9 kJ mol−1; and ΔS20# = − 48.3 J mol−1 K−1 for chlorination. The ability of an interaction corresponding to a specific (NH3Cl+/RR′NH) or general (NH2Cl/RR′NH) acid catalysis has been also discussed. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

4,4′-bipyridine bridged two Cu (II) complexes, [Cu2L12(4,4′-bipy)(H2O)2](ClO4)2 ( 1 ) and [Cu2L22(4,4′-bipy)]n·(2H2O)n ( 2 ) (where, HL1 = 2-[(3-methylamino-propylimino)-methyl]-phenol, H2L2 = 3-[(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzylidene)-amino]-propionic acid, and 4,4′-bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine) have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal structure determination, mass spectrometry, FT-IR, electronic absorption, and emission spectroscopy. Complex 1 is dinuclear cationic compound and counter balanced by perchlorate anion, whereas complex 2 possesses 1D poly-nuclear structure. Both the complexes crystallize in monoclinic system with P21/c space group and the copper centers possess square pyramidal geometry. H-bonding, C-H···π, π···π interactions results the formation of two dimentional supramolecular structure for both the complexes. Interactions of complexes with bovine serum albumins (BSA) and human serum albumins (HSA) have been studied by using electronic absorption and emission spectroscopic technique. The calculated values of binding constants (Kb) are (9.22 ± 0.26) × 105 L mol−1 ( 1 -BSA), (7.19 ± 0.16) × 105 L mol−1 ( 1 -HSA), (5.05 ± 0.20) × 105 L mol−1 ( 2 -BSA) and (3.56 ± 0.25) × 105 L mol−1 ( 2 -HSA). The mechanism of serum albumins-complex interactions have been investigated by fluorescence lifetime measurement. Fluorescence spectroscopic studies indicate that both the complexes interact with calf thymas-DNA. Catecholase activity of the complexes has been studied in methanol using 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol (3,5-DTBC) as substrate and the result show that both the complexes are active for catalytic oxidation of 3,5-DTBC to 3,5-di-tert-butylquinone (3,5-DTBQ) in presence of molecular oxygen. Calculated values of turnover numbers are 71.81 ± 1.04 h−1 and 69.45 ± 0.74 h−1 for 1 and 2 , respectively.  相似文献
