Summary Quantum chemical ab initio calculations have been performed for the complex CO2HF and N2OHF. The interaction energies were computed through fourth order MBPT and were corrected for basis set superposition errors. Extended polarized basis sets were used which are constructed to give accurate values for electric moments and polarizabilities. The complex NNOHF was found to be bent, while OCOHF is linear, in agreement with experiment. The MBPT calculations give evidence for a second linear isomeric structure FHNNO, a possibility which has also been suggested by recent experimental data. The computed binding energies are: 2.5 kcal/mol for OCOHF, 2.4 kcal/mol for NNOHF, and 3.0 kcal/mol for FHNNO. At the SCF level, the FHNNO complex is less stable than NNOHF, but correlation has a large effect on the geometry and energetics of the latter complex. The NNOHF complex seems to be a system where the positive intramolecular correlation correction prevails over the negative intermolecular component.  相似文献

The most important calorimetric methods have been reviewed: the differential thermal analysis (DTA) as basic disposition and the scanning calorimetry (DSC) as well as the adiabatic rate calorimetry (ARC). The thermal circuits of these are expressed by bond diagrams as conceived by topological thermodynamics. It has been stated that the heat flux associated with the process of transformation is virtually (uncompensated) transferred in the DTA system, really transferred (compensated) in the DSC and ARC systems, between the two containers through a transfer medium assumed to be purely dissipative.
Zusammenfassung Eine Übersicht über die wichtigsten kalorimetrischen Methoden, sowie die Differentialthermoanalyse (DTA) als Grundverfahren, die Abtastkalorimetrie (DSC) und die adiabatische Geschwindigkeitskalorimetrie (ARC) wird gegeben. Die thermischen Kreise derselben werden durch Bindungsdiagramme, wie sie an Hand der topologischen Thermodynamik erhalten werden, ausgedrückt. Es wurde festgestellt, dass die Wärmeströmung mit dem Umwandlungsprozess assoziiert scheinbar (unkompensiert) in das DTA-System, wahrhaftig (kompensiert) in die Systeme DSC und ARC übertragen wird, undzwar zwischen den zwei Behältern durch ein als rein zerstreuend angenommenes Transfermedium.

Résumé Mise au point sur les méthodes calorimétriques les plus importantes: l'analyse thermique différentielle (ATD) comme technique de base, l'analyse calorimétrique différentielle à compensation de puissance (DSC) et la calorimétrie à vitesse adiabatique (ARC). Les circuits thermiques de ces techniques s'expriment par des diagrammes de liaisons comme ceux conçus par la thermodynamique topologique. On établit que le flux de chaleur associé au processus de la transformation est virtuellement transferré (sans compensation) en ATD et réellement transferré (avec compensation) en DSC et ARC, entre les deux conteneurs par un milieu de transfert supposé être purement dissipatif.

Kinetic studies of tetrahydrofuran reaction with H2S were carried out in a flow-circulation reactor. Presumably, the reaction takes place through dissociative chemisorption of reactants and the interaction of surface structures formed to produce thiolane and water. A kinetic equation that agrees with the suggested mechanism has been derived.

Studies of water adsorption and desorption on silica gel with a modified derivatograph are described. The dynamic gas chromatography step profile method was used to determine isotherms of adsorption and desorption from the TG curve. The obtained isotherms agree with those from other methods. The properties of surface liquid layers can be investigated by this method.
Zusammenfassung Die Untersuchung der Adsorption und Desorption von Wasser an Silikagel mittels eines modifizierten Derivatographen wird beschrieben. Die dynamische gaschromatographische Stufenprofilmethode wurde zur Bestimmung der Ad- und Desorptionsisothermen aus den TG-Kurven herangezogen. Die erhaltenen Isothermen stimmen gut mit denen nach anderen Methoden bestimmten überein. Die Eigenschaften flüssiger Oberflächenschichten können mit dieser Methode untersucht werden.

A modification of a weakly acidic cation exchange resin Wofatit CA-20 has been carried out by using inorganic molybdenum salts in ethylene glycol and water solutions. The modified cation exchanger was used as a polymeric catalyst in the epoxidation of various olefins by 1-phenylethyl hydroperoxide (PEHP) at 368 K in ethylbenzene solution. The catalytic efficiency of a homogeneous (molybdenum naphthenate) and the polymeric complexes so prepared as well as the reactivity of the olefins have been compared.

The perborate oxidation of quinol in aqueous acetic acid is first order with respect to perborate, zero order with respect to quinol, and first order with respect to H+. The oxidation is faster than H2O2 oxidation. Breakdown of protonated perboric acid is suggested as the rate-limiting step.

A desk computer program has been written in BASIC programming language to optimize the values of rate constants determined from kinetic measurements of time and concentration data. The program is capable of the simultaneous refinement of a maximum of 5 rate constants. A FORTRAN version using the Gear method is also available.

The reduction of Pt/SiO2 at 1100 K results in a decrease of the quantity of absorbed hydrogen and of the catalytic activity in benzene hydrogenation, ethane hydrogenolysis and neopentane isomerization, which cannot be accounted for by metal sintering. O2 treatment followed by reduction at moderate temperature restores the usual properties of the catalyst. This behavior is similar to that observed on Pt/TiO2 catalysts, the difference lying in the temperature at which the phenomenon appears.

The effect of calcination temperature on the catalytic properties of nickel phosphate has been studied using the isomerization of butene-1 as a test reaction. A simple relationship was found between the catalyst activity in isomerization and the hydroxy content of the catalyst surface. Interrelations between the activity of the catalyst and its structure are discussed.

It has been revealed that in crystalline aluminosilicates the three-coordinated aluminium ion belonging to the lattice is not the Lewis acid center. The latter is the off-lattice aluminium ion compensating the excess of the negative charge in the lattice or acting as cation valence-bonded to the oxygen anion of the SiO4 tetrahedron.

A comparison of the properties of iron-containing catalysts prepared through carbonyl clusters Fe3(CO)12 and (NEt4)2[Fe2Mn(CO)12] and iron and manganese nitrates in CO hydration indicates that the addition of Mn incorporated in (NEt4)2[Fe2Mn(CO)12] decreases the methane yield and increases the portion of higher hydrocarbons.

Sodium salicylate (NaSal where Sal=2-hydroxybenzoate), when mixed with dibenzo-24-crown-8 (DB24C8) yields a bimetallic complex [NaSal]2DB24C8 in most polar organic media, while potassium salicylate (KSal) under similar conditions shows a tendency to yield 11 or 21 complexes depending upon medium or synthesis. However, the presence of both NaSal and KSal together results in a unique mixed cation complex of composition NaKSal2DB24C8. This product melts sharply (190-92°C) without decomposition, displays IR spectral characteristics comparable to those of [Na(Sal)]2DB24C8, and is stable in aqueous media as shown by the detectable cation effect on the UV absorption bands of Sal and DB24C8. Single crystal X-ray analysis of NaK(Sal)2DB24C8 reveals that the system represents a co-crystallization complex of individual (KSal)2DB24C8 and (NaSal)2DB24C8 molecules. The crystals are monoclinic,P21/c,a=19.976(2) Å,b=9.031(1) Å,c=25.541(5) Å,=122.065(9)°, Å3,T=298 K,Z=2+2, CuK =1.5418 Å, and 2 (2.5°–100°). FinalR factor for the 3012 observed reflections (F>3) is 0.092. Both the Na2- and K2-molecules possess crystallographic centers of symmetry with one metal and its associated anion on each side of the crown ring. However, the conformations of the crowns are very different in the two molecules, with the K2-crown being nearly planar and the Na2-crown being quite puckered. Four oxygen atoms from the DB24C8 (KO, 2.680–2.908 Å) and three carboxyl oxygen atoms (KO, 2.472–2.708 Å) from separate salicylate ions coordinate with each potassium. Three oxygens from the crown (NaO, 2.536–2.65 Å) and three carboxyl oxygens (NaO, 2.31–2.563 Å) coordinate with each sodium. The salicylate ions lie on opposite sides and nearly perpendicular (77.2°, Na2-molecule; 82.7° K2-molecule) to each crown but coordinate to both of the metal ions within a molecule. The K+K+ and Na+Na+ distances in the respective molecules are 3.95 and 3.34 Å.
