We show that there is a model structure in the sense of Quillen on an arbitrary Frobenius category F such that the homotopy category of this model structure is equivalent to the stable category F as triangulated categories. This seems to be well-accepted by experts but we were unable to find a complete proof for it in the literature. When F is a weakly idempotent complete (i.e., every split monomorphism is an inflation) Frobenius category, the model structure we constructed is an exact (closed) model structure in the sense of Gillespie (2011).  相似文献

The Frobenius–Perron dimension for an abelian category was recently introduced in [5]. We apply this theory to the category of representations of the finite-dimensional radical square zero algebras associated to certain modified ADE graphs. In particular, we take an ADE quiver with arrows in a certain orientation and an arbitrary number of loops at each vertex. We show that the Frobenius–Perron dimension of this category is equal to the maximum number of loops at a vertex. Along the way, we introduce a result which can be applied in general to calculate the Frobenius–Perron dimension of a radical square zero bound quiver algebra. We use this result to introduce a family of abelian categories which produce arbitrarily large irrational Frobenius–Perron dimensions.  相似文献

We study Gorenstein categories. We show that such a category has Tate cohomological functors and Avramov–Martsinkovsky exact sequences connecting the Gorenstein relative, the absolute and the Tate cohomological functors. We show that such a category has what Hovey calls an injective model structure and also a projective model structure in case the category has enough projectives. As examples we show that if X is a locally Gorenstein projective scheme then the category ??????(X) of quasi‐coherent sheaves on X is such a category and so has these features. Let ?? be a Frobenius category, \({\mathcal P}\) its subcategory of projective objects and F : ?? → ?? an exact automorphism. We prove that there is a fully faithful functor from the orbit category ??/F into \(\operatorname {gpr}({\mathcal P}/F)\), the category of finitely-generated Gorenstein-projective modules over \({\mathcal P}/F\). We give sufficient conditions to ensure that the essential image of ??/F is an extension-closed subcategory of \(\operatorname {gpr}({\mathcal P}/F)\). If ?? is in addition Krull-Schmidt, we give sufficient conditions to ensure that the completed orbit category \({\mathcal E} \ \widehat {\!\! /} F\) is a Krull-Schmidt Frobenius category. Finally, we apply our results on completed orbit categories to the context of Nakajima categories associated to Dynkin quivers and sketch applications to cluster algebras.  相似文献

We introduce n-abelian and n-exact categories, these are analogs of abelian and exact categories from the point of view of higher homological algebra. We show that n-cluster-tilting subcategories of abelian (resp. exact) categories are n-abelian (resp. n-exact). These results allow to construct several examples of n-abelian and n-exact categories. Conversely, we prove that n-abelian categories satisfying certain mild assumptions can be realized as n-cluster-tilting subcategories of abelian categories. In analogy with a classical result of Happel, we show that the stable category of a Frobenius n-exact category has a natural \((n+2)\)-angulated structure in the sense of Geiß–Keller–Oppermann. We give several examples of n-abelian and n-exact categories which have appeared in representation theory, commutative algebra, commutative and non-commutative algebraic geometry.  相似文献

We define model structures on exact categories, which we call exact model structures. We look at the relationship between these model structures and cotorsion pairs on the exact category. In particular, when the underlying category is weakly idempotent complete, we get Hovey’s one-to-one correspondence between model structures and complete cotorsion pairs. We classify the right and the left homotopy relation in terms of the cotorsion pairs and look at examples of exact model structures. In particular, we see that given any hereditary abelian model category, the full subcategories of cofibrant, fibrant and cofibrant-fibrant subobjects each has natural exact model structures equivalent to the original model structure. These model structures each has interesting characteristics. For example, the cofibrant-fibrant subobjects form a Frobenius category, whose stable category is the same as the homotopy category of its model structure.  相似文献

Extriangulated category was introduced by H.Nakaoka and Y.Palu to give a unification of properties in exact categories anjd triangulated categories.A notion of tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories in an extriangulated category is defined in this paper. We give a Bazzoni characterization of tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories and obtain an Auslander-Reiten correspondence between tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories and coresolving covariantly(resp.,resolving contravariantly)finite subcatgories which are closed under direct summands and satisfy some cogenerating(resp.,generating)conditions.Applications of the results are given:we show that tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories defined here unify many previous works about tilting modules(subcategories)in module categories of Artin algebras and in abelian categories admitting a cotorsion triples;we also show that the results work for the triangulated categories with a proper class of triangles introduced by A.Beligiannis.  相似文献

We exhibit examples of triangulated categories which are neither the stable category of a Frobenius category nor a full triangulated subcategory of the homotopy category of a stable model category. Even more drastically, our examples do not admit any non-trivial exact functors to or from these algebraic respectively topological triangulated categories. We define negative K-groups for exact categories and for ``derived categories' in the framework of Frobenius pairs, generalizing definitions of Bass, Karoubi, Carter, Pedersen-Weibel and Thomason. We prove localization and vanishing theorems for these groups. Dévissage (for noetherian abelian categories), additivity, and resolution hold. We show that the first negative K-group of an abelian category vanishes, and that, in general, negative K-groups of a noetherian abelian category vanish. Our methods yield an explicit non-connective delooping of the K-theory of exact categories and chain complexes, generalizing constructions of Wagoner and Pedersen-Weibel. Extending a theorem of Auslander and Sherman, we discuss the K-theory homotopy fiber of ε→ ε and its implications for negative K-groups. In the appendix, we replace Waldhausen's cylinder functor by a slightly weaker form of non-functorial factorization which is still sufficient to prove his approximation and fibration theorems.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that generalized Nakajima Categories provide a framework to construct a desingularization of quiver Grassmannians for self-injective algebras of finite representation type. Furthermore, we show that all standard Frobenius models of orbit categories of the bounded derived category considered in Keller, Documenta Math. 10: 551–581, 2005 are equivalent to proj ??, the finitely generated projective modules of the regular Nakajima category ??.  相似文献

We show that every modular category is equivalent as an additive ribbon category to the category of finite-dimensional comodules of a Weak Hopf Algebra. This Weak Hopf Algebra is finite-dimensional, split cosemisimple, weakly cofactorizable, coribbon and has trivially intersecting base algebras. In order to arrive at this characterization of modular categories, we develop a generalization of Tannaka–Kre?ˇn reconstruction to the long version of the canonical forgetful functor which is lax and oplax monoidal, but not in general strong monoidal, thereby avoiding all the difficulties related to non-integral Frobenius–Perron dimensions. In the more general case of a finitely semisimple additive ribbon category, not necessarily modular, the reconstructed Weak Hopf Algebra is finite-dimensional, split cosemisimple, coribbon and has trivially intersecting base algebras.  相似文献

Consider an exact category in the sense of Quillen. Assume that in this category every morphism has a kernel and that every kernel is an inflation. In their seminal 1982 paper, Beĭlinson, Bernstein and Deligne consider in this setting a t-structure on the derived category and remark that its heart can be described as a category of formal quotients. They further point out that the category of Banach spaces is an example, and that here a similar category of formal quotients was studied by Waelbroeck already in 1962. In the current article, we give a direct and rigorous construction of the latter category by considering first the monomorphism category. Then we localize with respect to a multiplicative system. Our approach gives rise to a heart-like category not only for the Banach spaces. In particular, the main results apply to categories in which the set of all kernel–cokernel pairs does not form an exact structure. Such categories arise frequently in functional analysis.  相似文献

Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. In this article, we consider an integral fusion category over k in which the Frobenius–Perron dimensions of its simple objects are at most 3. We prove that such fusion category is of Frobenius type. In addition, we also prove that such fusion category is not simple.  相似文献

We introduce two new classes of fusion categories which are obtained by a certain procedure from finite groups – weakly group-theoretical categories and solvable categories. These are fusion categories that are Morita equivalent to iterated extensions (in the world of fusion categories) of arbitrary, respectively solvable finite groups. Weakly group-theoretical categories have integer dimension, and all known fusion categories of integer dimension are weakly group-theoretical. Our main results are that a weakly group-theoretical category C has the strong Frobenius property (i.e., the dimension of any simple object in an indecomposable C-module category divides the dimension of C), and that any fusion category whose dimension has at most two prime divisors is solvable (a categorical analog of Burnside's theorem for finite groups). This has powerful applications to classification of fusion categories and semsisimple Hopf algebras of a given dimension. In particular, we show that any fusion category of integer dimension <84 is weakly group-theoretical (i.e. comes from finite group theory), and give a full classification of semisimple Hopf algebras of dimensions pqr and pq2, where p,q,r are distinct primes.  相似文献

Weak bimonoids in duoidal categories are introduced. They provide a common generalization of bimonoids in duoidal categories and of weak bimonoids in braided monoidal categories. Under the assumption that idempotent morphisms in the base category split, they are shown to induce weak bimonads (in four symmetric ways). As a consequence, they have four separable Frobenius base (co)monoids, two in each of the underlying monoidal categories. Hopf modules over weak bimonoids are defined by weakly lifting the induced comonad to the Eilenberg–Moore category of the induced monad. Making appropriate assumptions on the duoidal category in question, the fundamental theorem of Hopf modules is proven which says that the category of modules over one of the base monoids is equivalent to the category of Hopf modules if and only if a Galois-type comonad morphism is an isomorphism.  相似文献

In this paper we generalize our work on Gelfand dualities in cartesian closed topological categories [42] to categories which are only monoidally closed. Using heavily enriched category theory we show that under very mild conditions on the base category function algebra functor and spectral space functor exist, forming a pair of adjoint functors and establishing a duality between function algebras and spectral spaces. Using recent results in connection with semitopological functors, we show that every (E,M)-topological category is endowed with at least oneconvenient monoidal structure admitting a generalized Gelfand duality. So it turns out that there is no need for a cartesian closed structure on a topological category in order to study generalized Gelfand-Naimark dualities.  相似文献

Exact categories
We survey the basics of homological algebra in exact categories in the sense of Quillen. All diagram lemmas are proved directly from the axioms, notably the five lemma, the 3×33×3-lemma and the snake lemma. We briefly discuss exact functors, idempotent completion and weak idempotent completeness. We then show that it is possible to construct the derived category of an exact category without any embedding into abelian categories and we sketch Deligne's approach to derived functors. The construction of classical derived functors with values in an abelian category painlessly translates to exact categories, i.e., we give proofs of the comparison theorem for projective resolutions and the horseshoe lemma. After discussing some examples we elaborate on Thomason's proof of the Gabriel–Quillen embedding theorem in an appendix.  相似文献

Given a complete, cocomplete category 𝒞, we investigate the problem of describing those small categories I such that the diagonal functor Δ: 𝒞 → Functors(I, 𝒞) is a Frobenius functor. This condition can be rephrased by saying that the limits and the colimits of functors I → 𝒞 are naturally isomorphic. We find necessary conditions on I for a certain class of categories 𝒞, and, as an application, we give both necessary and sufficient conditions in the two special cases 𝒞 =Set or R ?, the category of left modules over a ring R.  相似文献
