In this paper, we study the nonclassical properties of theelectromagnetic field resulting from the interaction of athree-level Λ-type atom with a two-mode field initiallyin the coherent state, such as squeezing properties andsub-Poisson statistics. We show that the squeezing can beenhanced by selective atomic measurement.
