Abstract: | 2‐Phenylquinolines, 2‐phenyl‐3‐methyl‐quinolines, and 2‐phenyl‐3‐ethylquinolines were synthesized in high yields (78–90%) by the reaction of aniline, benzylamine, aliphatic alcohols (ethanol, n‐propanol, n‐butanol), and CCl4 catalyzed by FeCl3·6H2O in tetrachloromethane. |
